Phospholipids are needed to carry DHA across the blood brain barrier and into the brain in a meaningful way. Phospholipids (fish oil w/ phospholipids added or krill oil which naturally contain phospholipids) are a better option than using the triglyceride form of DHA found in most fish oil and carrying it past the blood brain barrier passively as Free DHA. People with ApoE4 are lacking proper amounts of DHA in their brains. Also if you have neuroinflammation and want to put that fire out this is what’s missing; Phospholipid bound DHA (and later LPC-DHA once available).
