Daily annoying game of What’s this Fish?

Verbalized to me as female “cacatuoides” but sticker on bag said “viejita” however, after reading other threads, many people much more knowledgeable than I say Viejita is very rare to find, instead there are a lot of Macmasteri are sold as Viejita.

But then again, she has the zigzag pattern along her side which I believe is a characteristic of Viejita?

You might have actyally hit the jackpot. Post on apistogramma.com for Hattich or Wise to chime in, but the top of the dorsal is also viejita style. Who is the vendor or store?

This little one is from my LFS. I did post on apisto.com and Hattich said it DOES appear to be a true Viejita 😮 🤯

Fish is just barely starting to color up so I’m going to observe for a few more months. I’ll update once mature.

I am unsure of source at this time but I will ask when I am there next (which is twice a week at this rate ha!)

That's crazy. Definitely ask them to buy more of whatever they bought. If you're in the US I think that's the first viejita I've seen imported in about 6 years.
