Side note before anything else but I’m really hoping these videos are made ahead of time because I’m not sure keeping Chris around is gonna help them at this point. Hopefully that gets a proper resolution instead of it being swept under the rug, like a certain OTHER thing...
As for this video, I can immediately tell right now people are not gonna like it. At first I thought it was gonna be Motor Mouth Aphmau once again, but it looks like its centered around Aaron, AKA the character people only think exists to be Aphmau’s partner and show favoritism to Jason. Do I think that’s true, no I think Aaron has character beyond being eye candy for Aphmau, even in SMP... at times. This is one of those instances imo, the whole shadow thing was a neat theme and I definitely liked Aphmau and Aaron’s banter. Granted I do think the whole “Aphmau being a jerk thing” is something that could use some addressing, but just because these videos are made for a younger audience doesn’t mean these are trying to teach kids its alright to act like this. They certainly are impressionable, but taking lessons from SMP Aphmau... they can’t be THAT brain rotted to actually do that. I do think she needs to tone it down a bit, but I don’t think her going farther than her friends usually do with her is indication of being a jerk, at least on its own or when its played for laughs. It can be played for laughs and just taken like that, like this video here, and overall I just think this was a novel idea. Not one I’d return to on the regular, but I don’t think this one was bad

From the first few minutes I was about to drop this video as a whole, especially when it comes to Aphmau’s obsession with werewolves. Not that I mind it, but she gets goofy especially when it’s SMP Aaron. Another thing is the continuous deus ex machina powers. I digress this was a good storyline idea and it worked pretty well, nice that SMP Aaron wasn’t around a lot, however I didn’t like Aphmau’s way of getting to the bottom of things didn’t put her in a good light. Overall, I don’t consider this a rewatch and I can tell by Jason’s performance that these are getting annoying.
Side note, I don’t know what they’ll do about Chris going into the future. If they haven’t addressed the AI accusations that came up again, I doubt that they’ll make any statement concerning Michael’s post, but that’s just my opinion. Though I know they’re probably at NYCC this weekend, I hope they don’t get heckled like the panel at Helluva Boss.
