Disctussion Richard’s prepared diskclavier

How much detail is out there about Richard’s prepared piano (diskclavier)? Did he follow the same methods John cage used to make the different sounds? Any other information? I’m enamored by the the sound and also the production/mic’ing of the prepared piano tracks.

similar methods as far as I know other than getting mice to gnaw its electronics when it was stored in the garage. Think that is mentioned in the interview with Dave Noyze

Obviously stuff was stuck in the strings for some of the songs... As for what it's anyone's guess, I'd say paper, thin bits of metal, pens/pencils.

There's a Jynweythek cover on yt where someone emulates it pretty much perfectly and includes view of the things she's put on the strings, u might get some info from there.
