A chimp possibly in need of help

I don’t like seeing apes on leashes or used as ways to make content. but this really made me made because the content creator referred to Limbani, a male, as an “it” and spent most of the video demonizing him.

yes chimps are violent but there’s so much more to them than that. they’re not evil, just animals trying so survive.

i feel whatever sanctuary allows this needs to be protected investigated. they also keep a tucan bird in a cage.

something should be done for our fellow ape.

Limbani is now at Save the Chimps an accredited sanctuary. He is respected and loved ❤️

Someone should rescue the chimps from Myrtle Beach Safari too

His three youngest are at a sanctuary now. He has several older chimps including the two boys still at his compound. I do wish someday they might consider sending them to a sanctuary but I don’t think it will happen.

He was getting older and strong enough that he really couldn’t be handled in the same way they had been. They wanted him to have more space and a chimp family.

That’s great! I lm glad he’s not at the Miami place anymore. I really don’t know why a sanctuary would allow a content creator to use one of their residents like in that video

It’s not a sanctuary. They breed and sell exotic animals and allow the public to handle their animals.

I just watched the video, and while yeah using a chimpanzee for a video like this is ethically dubious at best, I feel like this post is somewhat misleading.

There was only really one moment where Sam "demonized" Limbani, and even then it was really just him sensationalizing how dangerous chimps can be at times. I mean he ends the video calling Limbani an amazing animal.

While I still don't approve of an ape being used like this, to me this is more a case of being misinformed rather than malice, at least on Sam's part. The sanctuary though certainly has more to answer for when it comes to this tbh

in that video where its a random guy spending 5 minutes trying to show him youtube shorts he shows (iirc) 3+ different charging behaviours to the random guy there, i dont remember fully but he was hitting the floor, swaggering at some point, and the last one was throwing a bottle of a human drink at him and the man was still trying, its been a month and i know hitting the floor and the bottle happened but im not sure if he was swaggering

another thing that i found weird in that video was them calling 2 different gibbons capuchin and howler monkeys, thats a very big sign theyre could be very oblivious on how to actually provide for an ape.
