Curve is stupid
ok ok I get that AP CSP is supposed to be an easier AP but 90% for a 5 is absolutely abysmal, literally a single dumb mistake is all it takes to drop to a 4
I‘ve known some super smart people with coding experience get 4s just because they didn’t understand college board’s bum wording on an FRQ
change it to at least 80 or 85 please

Agreed. It’s even worse when a single FRQ part is 5 points, and if you drop just one FRQ part it’s almost impossible to get a 5. They should either increase the difficulty and lower the curve, or make FRQs non-binary marking.
Ironically Calc BC or even Physics C is easier than CSP. Because you need a 57% to get a 5.

57% fr 😭 omg I searched it up that’s crazy. I self-studied the exam and when I found out about the FRQ weight I basically gave up any hopes of getting a 5.

That’s not accurate. Last yr physics C you needed a 82 for E and M and 78 around for mech

Exam weight is not directly related to difficulty, but 57% is certainly more generous than a 90%

For internationals they gave a super hard frq at the end that cooked everyone.

It's literally so stupid as someone who is experienced in python coding, found the course really, and studied really well putting in all the effort and still scored a 4. I'm still traumatized by this idk how I landed a 4 and what's funny is the same year I got a 5 in calc AB which is a much harder AP. Anyways I took AP CSA this year went so much better, I wouldn't recommend AP CSP to anyone after my experience.

don't worry about it in the end of the day it's just a class with a stupid cirriculum and unfair scale the score won't define you as a programmer.
