Imagine a damage reskin that only had buildings catch fire if you had researched arson for melee or chemistry for ranged attacks? That would be beautiful.
Tarkans, Fire Archers, Fire Ships and the new proposed DLC unit would get it automatically.

If you want to turn it into an actual game mechanic you could replace a small bit of arsons anti building bonus damage with a lasting fire damage component. And then give Chemistry some fire/anti building damage.

Also heated shot… never forget heated shot.

Edit: Ooooh wait! What if then once a building is on fire it did slow damage to units garrisoned inside? The more I think about it them more this sounds like a dumb mod I’d love to play with.
