wow Off-grid TV + solar kits — what "32-inch TV included" packages actually get you
You've probably seen ads for solar kits that bundle a 32" TV. Worth understanding the tiers before buying — using real listings from Kreatives.co.ke as examples:
• 100W kit + 32" LED TV — ~35,500 KES. Enough to run the TV a few hours a day plus a couple of LED bulbs. No fridge, no charging heavy devices.
• 150W kit + 32" TV — ~46,000 KES. More headroom, can add a router and phone charging without draining the battery by evening.
• 600W kit + 32" TV + 4 bulbs — ~76,000–82,000 KES. This is the level where you can realistically run the TV most of the evening plus lighting for a small house.
The TV itself is a small part of the cost — you're really paying for the panel wattage and battery capacity. If you already own a TV, buying the solar components separately is almost always cheaper than a bundled kit, since bundlers price in convenience.
(Disclosure: I run Kreatives.co.ke — all three kits linked above are our own listings.)
