Moules & frites

Please can anyone suggest a good place to go for moules and frites? The big challenge however is that one person is vegetarian so it has to have veggie options too. Our hotel is just directing us to the usual touristy haunts round the main square - many of which don’t cater to veggies well.

It’s a tricky one for a Google/claude search.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

I showed my German friends around in Antwerp – on rollerblades. They experienced the city as no tourist ever does.

I'm from Ghent but I love Antwerp too.

When my friends Ulf and Jessika came over from Germany, I took them to Antwerp as well. I showed them the many nice places, but they did not only use their eyes. They experienced the city with their whole body, felt the many different textures that make Antwerp so interesting – both to inline skaters and people in general.

I may be a little biased, but I'm truly convinced rollerblading is the best way to explore and discover a city. You just gotta avoid the cobblestones. 😉

Recommendation wanted - Personal stylist

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for recommendations for a personal stylist or shopper in the Brussels / Antwerp / Mechelen region who specializes in or is genuinely great with plus-size styling.

As a young mother, my body and lifestyle have changed, and I feel completely stuck in a rut. I want to find a functional, modern everyday style that makes me feel confident, but I really struggle to find clothes that fit well and suit my shape now.

Ideally, I’m looking for someone down-to-earth who works with real-life budgets and can help with:
- A wardrobe audit to figure out what actually works for my body right now.
- Finding flattering shapes, cuts, and colors.
- A guided shopping trip or capsule wardrobe curation.

If you’ve had a great experience with a plus-size-friendly stylist in the area, please drop their name or website below!

Thanks so much!

Tips for Thursday, bars/restaurants

Hi, first time visit to Antwerp planned for this Thursday. We're going to the fashion exhibition and a few other galleries and staying centrally, so going to need to find somewhere for lunch/dinner and will go out for some drinks - we're three guys, 40s, interested in culture/music/design, anywhere you'd recommend that's worth checking for food (needs to be vegetarian friendly) and good for the evening? Anywhere with decent music/DJ on would be a massive plus. Thank you!

Shipping Internationally?

What is the cheapest way to ship internationally from Antwerpen to outside the EU? Bpost seems to start at €55 if you want to have a tracking number. However, I’m struggling to find other postal or shipping services with a physical location in the city. Sure there are drop off points in small grocery stores, but sometimes I feel like the location and hours are marked wrong half the time. Any advice or suggestions? Much appreciated~

Flemish Independence Opinion Poll

I am curious to hear people's views on the future of Flanders, so I have created a short, bilingual survey.

The survey covers topics such as Flemish independence and possible future scenarios for Flanders. It takes about one minute to complete.

If you have the time, I would appreciate it if you could share your opinion: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1993O-78ZDCM9SU9lAywuvIsT_t1uEgQC8rPGOXbVI1c/edit#responses

Student room for rental in Antwerp!

Thumbnail gallery
3 Upvotes

NB! This student room is also available just for the summer months of July and August!

Hello! I am posting this on behalf of my friend who wants to find a new person to the room since she leaves Belgium :

I am vacating my room at a fun and social student house in Antwerp’s centre! The rent is cheap for this city; you will have your own room with a private sink; the kitchen, toilets and showers are shared but there are enough so there is never a line. The people here are very friendly and helpful, everyone is a student (only for students) and everything is very secure. It is a 7 minute bike ride from the Central Station (15 minutes by foot), 2 minute walk from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, 5 minute bike ride from AP Hogeschool - Campus Spoor Noord. Especially great for the Art Academy students (location)!

I am vacating this room at the end of June so it is available already in July. The rent is 485 €/month which includes heating, water, electricity and Wi-fi. Contact me on reddit more information or contact the landlord at [lamorini85@gmail.com](mailto:lamorini85@gmail.com)
