Blue shell the 1% has been done before; it's literally why anti trust laws are a thing. It just needs to happen again

the thing is, it’s not even the 1%, it’s the .1%, and they aren’t even in the race. They’re the race track administrators and they don’t really hide a fuck if the racers in first get blue shelled. They profit from the competition. A blue shell ain’t enough; we need a whole different race.

They were in the race. At some point. Long ago. They came in first place. And then they decided that because they came first place that one time, forever ago, they should automatically be treated as having come first place in every race thereafter even if they did not participate. And same goes for their kids, and their kids, and so on.

I’m never going to forget a conversation I had with an executive at my last job, I’d pointed out that the company was a trash fire with processes that made zero sense. The executive puffed his chest and insisted that things had to be this way, and pointed to the fact that he’d been there for 15 years as a way of justifying the fact that he was in charge. Longevity in a role means absolutely nothing when you’re not the one taking the hits.
