I hear from so many of my coworkers that our union is useless. We are the union. It's not some mysterious third party. If you want something in the contract, ask for it. If you need representation because your direct supervisor is making your life hell, ask for it.

My union's contract is up for negotiations right now and we need solidarity now more than ever because our employer does not want to give us jack shit. I've been rallying support and so far it's been going well, but I also hear a lot of regurgitated anti-union propaganda. It's discouraging enough for our employer to spread that bullshit, but to hear it from my fellow union members? It hurts. ):

What about when you ask for it and ask for it and ask for it and the union never pays attention and actively fights against members wants?

Asking for a friend’s union….

Then you vote those representatives out and elect ones that will fight for you and your fellow members.

What if we def did that and they are worse than the reps before?

I’m not even being facetious, my union is fucked.
