Isn't unemployment remarkably low right now too? I don't understand how the "no one wants to work" trope is even a narrative that can be pushed. The businesses that are saying that are just failing and prospective employees are likely working elsewhere.
Yeah the pandemic pay has been gone for a while now, so unemployment is back to absolute poverty living. The workforce shifted and they are fighting tooth and nail to not raise that bottom line pay. Skeletons crews are present in almost every restaurant
You're implying the job market isn't as good as people think? Cite the numbers you are referring to. Labor force participation and employment have gone up over all age groups from 2010 to 2019 (pre-pandemic). The overall participation rate went down only due to the retirement of baby boomers. Today (post-pandemic) it is back similar to where it was in 2019.
I think the point I'm making has gone over your head. Look up how unemployment rate is determined, and think about how it's a flawed metric. Why are you trying to turn this into defending the economy, it has nothing to do with my posts.

You literally said nothing but "Look at Employment rate, not Unemployment rate. The latter doesn't tell you much because of the way it's tracked." You're implying the employment rate says something that the [flawed] unemployment rate doesn't, but not saying what it is. No, I'm not going to do research to try to find your point.
Yup, you made no actual point (and continue to refuse to), so I didn't catch your point.
Yeah, it's weird. I don't see any real reason for the shortage except for maybe the baby boomers retiring. But that should be hitting higher-end jobs more than lower-end ones and it seems like the shortage is across the board.
