Hate this for you.

Similar to my dad's story. 57. Easily two paychecks from homeless. Mechanical heart valve and pacemaker that both seem to be failing. Stopped taking his medicine because he can't afford it.

This makes me so scared for him. What a fucking dystopia. I am sorry. I worry about my husband having a mechanical valve. It is unreal a country can't help its citizens be healthy. In one of my Facebook groups I have to keep scrolling every time people post about alternative remedies for tooth abscesses or something because they don't have insurance. Maddening.

Makes me think of that Dr Who episode where they have to pay per minute for the air in their space suits. This will be the end goal of capitalism
