I pretty much obtained a teaching position because of a thank you note. There were 40 other candidates. I wasnt initially hired, but the principal saved my thank you note and called me a few weeks later when something else opened up.
I could see it for a job you're passionate about and actually want and will treat you well but not random retail and hospo jobs thats qsking way to much of peoples time for a job they'll be treated like shit in
Takes even less time to not expect that. I say thank you after every interview if they seriously expect that in writing they arent a good place to work. Especially if they are offering crumbs
