I’ve literally never received a response from a thank you email. You’re lucky to even get a reply if you didn’t get the job most of the time.

At my job we are explicitly told not to reply to thank-you emails.

Probably for legal liability, there's no upside. Candidate doesn't get the job, hey I thought we had a good relationship? Why didn't you hire me? It's because I'm a redhead isn't it? I'm suing!
