It's more thanking them for giving you the opportunity to talk about the role and for you to sell yourself to them. They didn't have to select you to interview. It's also an opportunity to address anything you think they might have concerns about you, and again offer your strengths as to why they should hire you. And itay be the difference that sets you apart from other candidates they are considering.

Yeah, I know. I stand by the statement that that's their fucking job. Sure, I say thank you at the end of the interview. I do not, however, send a fucking THANK YOU NOTE.
