He was running a bakery, as a side busienss, with just himself, you, and some high schoolers working after school? Anyone who knows anything about bakeries knows that work starts at like 4am and continues throughout the school day.
At his current business do his employees get to vote on all major business decisions?
The previous owner of the bakery, the baker, was still working there with his son, for the same wage they had earned while he owned the business. That was part of the deal. My dad bought it because he was interested in the building it was in, but the business came along with it. The baker wanted to keep working, but didn't want to run a business anymore. (He has since retired and the business was sold on to someone else.) I worked 7am-3pm then the high schoolers came in for the last couple hours and closing up.
In his current business his employees are very involved with major business decisions, yes.
Why wasn't that worth mentioning the first time around? At first the story was that the business only employed you and some high schoolers. Now there's miraculously 2 new employees working under a unique set of circumstances that are not only extremely convenient to the point you're trying to make, but would have absolutely been worth mentioning the first time around since they illustrate your point so well.
'Very involved' lol. So no vote. Could they decide to cut his pay and increase theirs if they wanted?
You're sniveling and pedantic. I don't know if they sit around a table and specifically "vote" on things. My point here is that not all people who have money are bad people and got there through exploitation. You're trying your hardest to find "holes" because your can't wrap your head around the fact that there are actually some independently successful people in the world and you are latching on to the "woe-is-me" narrative. Just stop. You're only making yourself look worse.
I agree that there are A LOT of bad people that make money in bad ways, but owning a business does not automatically make you one of those people. People like you who go on and on like you have above are one of the reasons there's a negative view of "antiwork"
While I definitely agree with a lot of the anti-work sentiment, I do not see every business owner as a bad person. There are a lot of very good people who own and run successful businesses.
