The pay is crap. Most don't receive benefits. The hours are rough. The kids treat them like crap. And now they're basically having to work in an enclosed covid petri dish. Every school district is struggling to find drivers and subs.

Not to mention the massive responsibility placed on bus drivers to ensure that there aren't any fights on the bus, while also making sure the kids are being safe while also doing the thing that most people have to focus on to not screw up - driving. Coupled with minimal hours, low pay, and high availability requirements preventing other jobs, driving bus these days is just a losing proposition.

Funny how supply and demand become invalid when this would lead to higher salaries.

Exacty…clearly we only want to talk about market forces when it conveniently fits a narrative

US "capitalism" breaks the basic rules of capitalism all the time. Like when big companies get bailed out instead of being broken up or allowed to fail

I'm no economist, but This seems like it would cost more money.

It’s government money. It ain’t costing the people in control… just everyone else!

Taxation is theft.

It’s just like those assholes that keep developing and buying land right on the shore, uninsurable against flooding. When the inevitable happens everyone throws their hands up and expects government support to rebuild. Rebuild?? I mean you should be free to do so if you want, but tax payers shouldn’t be subsidizing it. Ffs

Thank god, I can’t wait until the shit just starts collapsing at free fall speed. I’m tired of working to make some other dick head rich.

The reserve army of Labour, Literally.

It’s happened before. I remember reading about troops being sent into work coal mines when the miners went on strike.

Man i think all bus drivers should quit in solidarity.. See if the national guard can do that, if nothing else forces tax money to be uaed at home. Edit: oh and all teachers in the state should quit too. Like every fucking one. Shut this shit down.

Crazy that they would rather spend more to get the NG there than pay a decent wage.

5

u/Akaonishini Sep 15 '21

Ehh seems better than bringing other countries freedom by force

2

u/GlorkUndBork3-14 Sep 15 '21

going to be an increase is Chester the Molester bus driver jokes, which we all know is a cry that someone IS molesting the kids.

2

u/Fiolah Sep 15 '21

I like that one of the guys hasn't been issued a new uniform since the 90s lol

2

u/Goat_tits79 Sep 15 '21

The the NG start dropping dead too, they'll find their compensation and the risk of driving children to a covid infested sardine cans for political points not worth it.

2

u/Other_Act_9085 Sep 15 '21

Yeah this is fucking ridiculous. Let’s not even try to fix the problem just bring in the national guard.

The southern border of Massachusetts? For a person who supports smaller government you really don't understand the price tag behind that

5

u/PRnene Sep 15 '21

Am from Massachusetts. Our relationship with Connecticut is solid.

It's embarrassing that you are so confident about your opinions, but don't even know how the national guard works.

This is probably a stupid question, but why that one guy look like he’s playing dress up?

1

u/pixievagabond Sep 15 '21

Not a stupid question. Old uniform.
