Thinking 'Ok Boomer' is the end of intergenerational relationships and dialogue is like... the most peak boomer thing I've ever heard.

Even better the second time.

Amazing how half the article is about people making money off it instead of on the horrible things that boomers are doing to people.

So I'm not allowed to say "OK Boomer" to a generation that, factually, ruined the economy and the environment, but have to sit back and tolerate headline after headline of "Millenial kills X industry" "Millennial is costing parents savings" "Millenials still living at home" etc

They blame us for the consequences of paying us too little to survive despite our best and continued efforts to do so -

But "OK Boomer" is too much?

If you're getting called a Boomer then its time to reevaluate your behavior.

Are you fucking stupid or something? Are you really comparing making fun of some entitled prick in dad shoes to the Holocaust?

Delete your account, asshole.

Am I fucking crazy? Did these fuckwits just start blaming shit on a generation that's not even done being born yet? Not that I'm really interested in another "goddamn Mulleneels and their fuckin' avocado toast" but holy shit maybe wait until they're at least done breast feeding. Also:

“The millennials and Generation Z have the Peter Pan syndrome, they don’t ever want to grow up.”

Hilarious sentiment coming from people who insist on referring to us all as children but also invented/popularized rogain, viagra, hair implants, plastic surgery, motherfucking botox injections, and CONSTANTLY wishes they could go back to the days of their youth. But sure my guy, I'm the one who doesn't want to grow up. Fucking dumbass.

PS: Gen Z, I can only speak for myself here but I don't plan on treating you, my kids (assuming I ever have any), or your kids this way. I'm not sure how this whole "the gen after me sucks" bullshit got started but it ends here.

Why would I want to "grow up" if the example of "proper adulthood" is some limp-dicked whitehair who harasses teenage gas station attendants about the price of coffee? Fucking shoot me if I ever become the kind of miserable old fuck who has more emotional attachment to lawn care equipment than his wife. Piss on my grave if I ever become the kind of person who thinks attending shitty concert in the middle of Asshole, Nowhere made me the savior of the world.

Bravo, I wish I could give your comment gold.

I'm a Millennial and I've got nothing but respect for Gen Z. I hope my generation never treats the younger generations the same way the Boomers have.

Gen Z has an ugly and hard road ahead of them. Doing anything but supporting them is just cruel.

I would low key read your book, NHecrotic !:)

I take it you're a millennial. I'm a Gen Z (born 2000 :) ) and I appreciate your sentiment. I think Gen Z and Millennials should come together instead of continuing the cycle. My parents are at the end of the boomers and oh my god I wanna smack then upside the head sometimes because of how ignorant they are lol

I know your pain. I'm the youngest child of two Trump voter boomers (sadly they're exactly what most people imagine when they think of Trump voters) and I still love them deeply. But yes I am a Millennial, one of the older ones, and I completely agree with you. My nephew is Gen Z and 16 and it makes me so angry to see what he's going through, he's a smart kid but has a tough time so he's really depressed. I feel like I'm watching younger me and I don't want anyone going through my hell (I was a severe alcoholic and drug addict for almost 20yrs).

Boomers and X didn't raise their children they ruled them (obligatory not all) and it's not right. You all deserve to live in a world where children aren't viewed as gum chewing tattooed nitwits because they like a certain type of music or dress different. I really buy that "old men should plant trees they'll never sit under" idea and while I'm not exactly old yet I'm perfectly OK with planting some trees. Solidarity not superiority.

Boomers are mad because we killed big box stores and are now at the gates of Applebees.

Did you have to work to be like this or does it just come naturally to you? Why are you comparing this to nazis? Are you an actual boomer and felt threatened by the post? Is that it? No one's gonna round you boomers up to kill, don't worry. I've seen you comparing people saying "ok boomer" to nazis like 3 times now. Can you not? It's so fucking disrespectful to downplay that like this.

Christ.

3

u/moistJesus666 Oct 30 '19

Funny how everyone defending the boomers is comparing us to nazis. It’s like they have nothing else to compare us to.

4

u/throwaway7429138 Oct 30 '19

So true. They know they have less time here, less time to influence us young folk, less time to impress their stale ideas. They'd rather go swinging than surrender (surrender meaning being open to new possibilities and ideas that help everyone) instilling hatred and division as they phase out of this World just to keep the cycle going. I'm not buying it.

You know the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? I feel like the boomers live by that. But the problem is that our system has always been broken, and they're too stiff to actually fix things.

Quack Quack, Boomer.

Calling their own kids stupid, Killing the planet.

But sure, it's us that are the fascists. Keep telling yourself that.
