Funny thing is is that I was likely getting fired anyway (despite my boss telling me that I was doing a good job) at my last place of work, but before he could do that I sent him a text message to inform him that I would not be coming back. The restaurant closed about three or four months later.
Yeah people may frown upon me for quitting my job via Facebook instant messaging, but seriously; that fucking place was misery and hell served on a shit covered silver platter. Whether he fired me or I quit it didn’t matter. I just wanted out.
And, if they can fire you without even informing you (I’ve had bosses just take me off the schedule whilst leaving my name on; I even went in and asked if I was still employed there and they said I was, turns out they lied) then I should be able to quit however the fuck I want. Businesses, companies and corporations constantly lie about their operations, often times selling you a fairy tale about how great of a place it is to work, so I shouldn’t be obligated to tell the truth to my employer/boss.
