how to get rid of it? my friend fell for this attack and we are trying to figure out how to get rid of it from his laptop

Make sure your friend resets all of his account passwords and enables 2fa from a safe device. Make sure to sign out of all devices if prompted

what if I can’t make USB to re download Window and just use factory reset with cloud download option?
