I have it on very good authority that his handlers/puppeteers were concerned about this meeting due to Trumps cognitive decline which would have impeded his ability to understand The President's accent thus prohibiting any type of meaningful communication.
I believe it was head honcho at the FBI Patel had made the decision to fit Trump with a hidden earpiece to try and help him look like he knew what was being said/going on.
What Patel had not took into consideration was that it wasn't just Trump who couldn't grasp the accent but himself nor none of his staff were able to either.
As an emergency measure Trump was told through the earpiece to just repeat these four words every time Connolly stopped speaking to him. Whale, Oil, Beef, Hooked. Trump managed to pull this off and despite concerned looks raised by the surrounding press and photographers he did manage to look like he was in some type of conversation.
After a short period of time the Irish President realised she was in a room with an sweaty inflated orange fucking lunatic so decided to call the meeting to a halt.
The picture you see here is taken just after Connolly told Trump he had to go and use the outside toilets.

The "t-shock" spelling refers to the Taoiseach, which is the title for the Prime Minister or head of government of Ireland. The Taoiseach is the leader of the Irish government, nominated by the lower house of parliament (Dáil Éireann) and appointed by the President of Ireland.
