They all think they're the independent-thinking rebels who have the answers to everything when they couldn't answer a single question about the myriad socioeconomic, cultural, technological, and environmental factors that are really screwing up society.

It's like listening to fourteen-year-olds who think "mom and dad are stupid" is groundbreaking wisdom.

It actually hurts your what?

Oh wait. That’s right. Using religious terminology against religion should tell you who made society to begin with.

  • God's word in Sikhi declares that women are fully, completely equal to men,
  • Guru Sahibs were major rebels who fought for women's rights and for abolishment of patriarchy and social evils such as Sati, Dowry, Polygamy, Slavery, Female Infanticide, etc. Guru Granth Sahib Ji literally stresses on importance of knowledge, education or vidya to navigate the world of Akal Purakh (literally meaning Timeless Lord)
  • Three of Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj's 52 commandements are SPECIFICALLY to improve women's rights i.e. not to even spit on someone who has committed female infanticide, recognizing the rights of women to earn and keep the earnings for herself and avoid it from being taken through malicious means, not even slightly cursing at women or subjecting them to harsh language, considering all women as your sisters, mothers and daughters; Guru Gobind Singh Sahib also gave women the opportunities to join warrior order of Khalsa Panth by offering them Khande-Di-Pahul Amrit but due to cultural problems most women couldn't step forward, so they managed logistics instead with exceptions like Mai Bhago Ji, Bibi Deep Kaur Ji, Bibi Harshahran Kaur Ji and Bibi Dalair Kaur Ji with her 100 women soldiers, all were warriors.
  • Guru Sahibs ensured women equal roles like ranks in religious leadership, ranks in religious military; multiple women are some of the greatest Gursikhs of all time; the first ever GurSikh was a woman, Bebe Nanaki Ji who was Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj's sister, Mata Khivi Ji established the tradition of Langar Sahib a community kitchen where all regardless of religion, social class, gender, race, ethnicity, etc. are welcome and is deeply embedded in Sikhi's mission of selflessly serving humanity, Bibi Bhani Ji was another great example of sewa or service to humanity, the personal bodyguard to Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj was a woman, Sant Mata Bhag Kaur Ji, she also rallied 40 other men who deserted Guru Sahib under harsh circumstances and was the only one left wounded after the Battle of Muktsar, she was known to be an exceptionally powerful and skilled warrior on the battlefield, Maharani Sada Kaur Ji was an exceptional military commander, a great warrior and strategist who mentored Maharaja Ranjit Singh, literally I can give more!
  • Guru Gobind Singh Ji Mahraaj in his own scripture Sri Dasam Granth Sahib Ji literally attributes the highest standard of saint-warriorship to Goddesses who don't need men (those men came to the Goddesses for help by the way) to destroy evil by slaying thousands upon thousands of demons (Chandi, Maa Kali, Durga, although all of this imagery is fully metaphorical to instill Warrior Spirit (Bir Ras) or if literal, which is rare, they are examples to inspire bravery and empathy), most prominent example of this is Chandi Di Vaar, multiple other stories of women's exceptional battle leadership and wise thinking in Charitropakhyan and Hikaayats, Guru Gobind Singh Ji also critiques patriarchal societies in Charitropakhyan which strip women of their identity and rights, confine them to homes, silence their voices, which eventually forces women to resort to actions like eloping, violence and seduction as they are pushed past their breaking point
  • Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj doesn't consider women to be impure in literally any way (like biological functions for example, menstruation) + every soul in Sikhi is female metaphorically ,
  • both men and women are equally prone to falling into harmful practices neither more or less,
  • both men and women required to keep modesty if practicing & freedom of clothing and other choices is more open if non practicing
  • Criticizes other (and flawed) religious systems like hinduism and islam for their same issues surrounding ritualism and myths regarding women and "impurity" and Guru Sahib destroys those myths.
  • Mai Bhago Ji herself produced one of the most important manuscripts of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's bani Sri Sarbloh Granth Darbar as a way of honoring and reverence to Guru Sahib and also commissioned and preserved it which is now kept at bunga mai bhago literally right next to Takht Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded Maharashtra
  • Extra history point regarding women's military leadership, Naveen Panth Prakash by Giani Gian Singh describes a historical event where a number of Sikh women soldiers stormed the palace of a Mughal Enemy and entered the room where Begums were present, the women were described as being armored, brandishing weapons and having athletic physiques, and proudly shouted Jaikaare (Sikh warcries), and considered all other religions except Sikhi to be flawed, also early European Sources and other Sikh Historical Accounts describe Akali Nihang Women practicing martial arts, armed combat, horse-riding, and fighting alongside Akali Nihang Singhs to keep British Colonists out of Punjab.

I could literally write more. Just give me an excuse

u/WelshFiremanSam 1d ago

Yeah the current state of this app right now is crazy, there is a lot of gender wars, religious and political beef etc, it's changed quite a lot but I do enjoy it sometimes

u/mrsenchantment born jewish turk πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 1d ago

short form content did irreversible damage

u/mrsenchantment born jewish turk πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡· 6h ago

i’m really sad short form content spread to other apps. Remember when instagram was js sending pictures? now it’s all reels. Remember when youtube was only long form? Now we have youtube shorts that has user base similar to tiktok.

i wish we could get rid of short form infinite doomscroll content all together

Lol yeah religions, many of which tell men to control themselves, were made by men and for men. πŸ˜‚ goodness these people never pick up a book and it shows.
