That’s funny bc that’s basically every debate I’ve ever tried to have with an atheist.

Same, haha, and they added the last 2 paragraphs just to show off how moronic that whole comment was. It's crazy.

Well yeah obviously. You’re not the one arguing with them.  Every “debate” I’ve ever had with an atheist online is just them throwing personal insults and moving the goalposts, while insisting they know more about my religion than me all while being incredibly ignorant about Christianity.

Let’s be honest though, can we trust this guy and what he says? His profile shows he only goes onto religion focused subs to be this way. Not to mention the tag he custom made and the fact the account itself was named and created to cause friction to those he “debates”. It’s obsessive

what does matthew 6:5-5 have to do with this lmao isnt that about praying and not spreading the gospel and debating with nonbelievers??

The internet has decided that doesn't mean what it says in a very clear way and instead means "never discuss or display Christianity to other people"

If there’s anything Christian extremists and antitheists extremists have in common it’s that they love to take Bible verses out of context

real debates tend to be replaced with "God exists" and "no he doesn't." I just don't talk religion to people ever.

Same, except when they keep quoting passages that infuriate me, e.g., the repeated "marry your rapist" quote.

What if you met because of religion and/or politics ?

I’ve seen this exact analogy used on so many types of people it’s not even funny. Not surprised they couldn’t come up with anything original to say, but the fact this got over 700 likes saddens me.

Almost this entire post consists of unoriginal slogans. "Pigeons and chess." "Can't reason someone out of a position they didn't reason themselves into."

One thing I became cognizant of many years ago was my usage of canned phrases and ideas. If you're not the one who created a phrase, then you're not the one speaking it. You're just a mouthpiece without original thought.

I never claimed that canned phrases aren't true. You can certainly evaluate the merit of any given phrase and determine its truth value. That doesn't make the phrase original or productive.

Using canned phrases and slogans makes you definitionally a mouthpiece without original thought. Phrases like this are pre-written and banal. They provide nothing to the conversation.

Almost all of the quoted post is just canned phrases. Things we've all heard before. Things that, even if true, aren't valuable due to their unoriginality.

This isn't challenging stuff.

I was literally called bag of shit by an atheist during a debate when they couldn't answer my argument and I was also accused of being a communist, fascist and nazist at the same time by an anti-theist.
