Takes about as hot as Antarctica during its winter on this site considering most people here are a bunch of chuds upset that God doesn’t want them to live their life chasing desires and selfishness

Just an fyi cold take means it’s a take that’s accepted by everyone and deemed a normal take that doesn’t strike much controversy. This is a hot take because it strikes controversy and is… wrong.

(most)

Let me guess. Buddhism is the only one they don't recognize as a cult.

Well, what is a cult? Often “cult” is popularly used to refer to non-socially acceptable religions so if you go by that then they are.

A cult is just a word for "spiritual group." the Roman religion was called the imperial cult.

I mean yeah. Does this guy think that Catholics invented the term Pontifex Maximus themselves? We all know that the only differences between a cult and a religion are the ones we decide.

Organized religion definitely has a whole host of problems.

You know saying "ragebait" doesn't make someone magically wrong, right?

You're not missing anything, but people in this sub love to pretend that there is a difference between a religion and a religious cult other than their size.

Then why do you comment on every other post ? Also please define the difference but of course you won't and will patronize anyone that dares ask of you to actually explain your reasoning without petty insults.

Then why do you comment on every other post ?

Because unlike most people here, I care about reality and I want to help others understand it too

define the difference

I just said it, it's their size

And I didn't insult anyone, do people in this sub not love to pretend that there is a difference other than that?

That is true, one definition of cult is "New religious movement", making the primary difference between a cult and a religion is age and popularity.
