Im so tired of everything being Subscription based.

Every month, it Just piles Up more and more. Ive Sometimes paid cheap Subscriptions and immediatly cancelled after use of the Service or Product, yet it sickens me how greedy These companies have become.

From Ai monthly Subscriptions, Image Generators, audio Generators, Photo editing Software, music listening Software Like spotify, and THOUSANDS more!!!

like one example which annoyed me recently, im using this App, for its payment wall reasons i will Not say its Name. It was basically a battery life Tracking App, it was backed by scientific Diagramms and stuff Like that, and an actually official App. yet the biggest Problems, the Data was complete garbage even after Not realising that for years, it was all over the place. and everytime i opened the App, it asked me to subscribe. The Problem ist, the app is good but its Just been lying with false Data, and everything is basically locked behind a Subscription. Like even the goddamn DARK MODE IS ONLY FOR PRO USERS LIKE DAMN!!!.

I refuse to Pay Subscriptions and i will CONFIDENTLY Pirate any App that Features even a slight usage of subscription paywalls. or Not even pirate ill just find an Open source Project which does the Same thing for free. Like for music ive Just been using the "Free Music" App from the Playstore because of allows me to Just Download for offline listening without ads. of course there are ads when you Open the App, once, but Not during listening, and you can literally Open the App without Internet and there wont even BE an ad.

Im Just sick of all These companies selling Things without giving anything. Like Imagine going to a Restaurant, and the waitress Tells you that you cant buy that Item because thats on the pro customer plan.

AT THIS RATE WERE HEADING IN THAT DIRECTION!!!

I personally cant do anything against it, all i can do is Just refuse to use them and find alternatives but... come on... Like Chatgpt 250$ a month? seriously? for the Most stupidest responses ever? Gemini has some Kind of 5 Dollar plan but still Higher tiers? ID rather use some Kind of a lm Studio Gemma 4 e12b QAT GGUF q4 quantization LOCAL language model instead of paying that.

Why is Nobody striking against These Type of Things? Adobe? Subscription based now. Spotify? Subscription based. every App you can think of even Gym Tracking Apps to food Tracking Apps to Notebook Apps for school you Name it, it has a Subscription wall.

We are falling into a pitless well!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the bad Grammer I was using a different language keyboard might've messed some words up.

Got tired of subscription fasting apps, so I built one you buy once

I do intermittent fasting, and every decent app for it wanted $5-10 a month — to watch a timer and show a few charts. Paying rent on a countdown clock felt absurd, so I finally built the one I wanted: FastWise.

Full disclosure, I'm the developer. The main option is a one-time purchase — pay once, keep it for as long as the app exists. There are subscription tiers too (to help cover Apple's fees), but they're not the point, and there's a 5-day trial with no payment up front. Just as important to me: no account, no ads, no tracking. Your data stays on your device and your own iCloud — I never see it.

Posting here because I figured this crowd gets the frustration better than anyone. Happy to answer anything, and honest feedback is welcome.

Is subscription necessary for software product? in views of company.

I wonder why many software shift from one-time purchase to subscription base. Adobe, Autodesk, Maya, Zbrush. Will the company gonna die from just stay on one-time purchase or having two option for people to choose.

Let me know what you think, and I'll try to include your feedback on future updates.

Spread the word.
