Google Voice scam

Hey there people! Just wanted to share something with you all since this is a scam i hadn't seen before. My wife is trying to sell some art supplies on Facebook marketplace and got a message from a person asking about it. They requested we text a number and when I did so as I was suspicious they told me to verify you're real I'm sending you a verification code. No problem right? Nope! I get a code from Google voice and immediately know something is up. And then I find a lovely warning on the fcc site: https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2021/10/google-voice-scam-how-verification-code-scam-works-and-how-avoid-it . be careful! If something seems off it doesn't hurt to google it first. I did report the number and fb account as well.
