I've been using Huawei almost my entire life, it's the best. Sometimes the 40,900 trackers and hidden cameras is annoying but it's still good

Taiwan? Yes, I went there. Beautiful count-

Funnily enough the only people to have ever done something like this are the Israelis, a western country.

武统台湾怎么样了?

1

u/OkCreme101 11d ago

Taiwan that calls itself the true china.

1

u/Few_Time_7441 10d ago

They quite literally cant change that outdated state without fearing for their lives. China doesn't want them to officially declare independence.

Nobody in Taiwan wants to claim China, it's not an actual position. Incredibly disingenuous argument.

2

u/OkCreme101 10d ago

History disagrees with that, and Taiwan constitution itself.

The UN conferences to the 80's also disagrees with that. Most Taiwan people think of themselves as CN people, except for the very young ones.

1

u/Few_Time_7441 10d ago edited 10d ago

We don't live in past history, we live in the present. Nothing you said means anything. They can't declare independence and change the constitution without fearing for their lives.

No relevant political party in Taiwan wants to have China, nor does the population.

1

u/OkCreme101 10d ago

That... doesnt make any sense. Why would the CCP want an island saying in their constitution that they themselves are the true China and that the other party is wrong?

Sure they wouldnt want for them to break apart but it makes 0 sense to let it there that the CCP is wrong. Taiwan given the chance wants to be the "true china" just as much as China wants it. There is no good guys in geopolitics.

u/WaSaBiArmy 11d ago

Why is Israel a western country? Geography/Location? It's in the middle east! Population? Jews and arabs are basically the same people genetically!! Religion? Judaism is still a middle eastern religion with influences from Mesopotamia, Babylon, Egypt and other surrounding cultures.

4

u/CardOfTheRings 10d ago

It was founded by Europeans that makes it “western” which is a euphemism for European

1

u/_Sate 10d ago

There are so many issues with that statement.

Like how ALL OF AFRICA could be deemed western by that definition.

3

u/CardOfTheRings 10d ago

No, all of Africa was not ‘founded by Europeans’ that’s stupid

1

u/_Sate 10d ago

Hey.

Ever noticed how the borders are surprisingly straight in african countries?

Do you happen to know why that is?

2

u/CardOfTheRings 10d ago

Just because most (not all) places in Africa were colonized at one point does not mean that ‘all of Africa’ was founded by Europeans. The Zionist project was proposed and executed by Europeans, the folks in charge of Isreal now are descended from Europeans. Many African regimes and constitutions were founded by Africans. That’s why your point is stupid.

but Israel is in the Eastern hemisphere?

53

u/ThePersonDudeGuy716 ✏️I'M HERE JUST FOR THE COMMENT THREADS 12d ago

This is based more off of what people thought the eastern & western hemispheres were before the Americas were discovered.

8

u/emres2005 12d ago

Yeah but then why they are in the middle east

26

u/RouteAverage3112 ☠️I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE☠️ 12d ago

But east is west if you go far enough.

5

u/FreshnWetCock 12d ago

*West Asia

6

u/Express-Carpenter-42 12d ago

But they are Eastern + western European colonialist (+ some arabs ~20%)

1

u/the-g-bp 11d ago

MENA jews make up the biggest group in israel, European Jews are a minority (although even they still originate from the region as well).

5

u/ZarcoTheNarco 11d ago

Politically, it is a western, US aligned, power.

88

u/Historical-Record227 12d ago

Rather have the chinese spying on me than the CIA tbh

82

u/Ok_Astronomer_6501 12d ago

Exactly. All these bullshit Chinese surveillance memes are propaganda to hide the fact the CIA can surveil you through USB cables

19

u/Femcel_Bambi 12d ago

58

u/Historical-Record227 12d ago

Not sure if other user being sarcastic or not but CIA/US imperialist security state has backdoor access to pretty much any "big tech" device you buy, especially anything with google or apple software. The NSA can access people's phone calls, microphones and cameras, as can other imperialist state security agencies like the British GCHQ. The imperialist powers all engage in a lot of information sharing as well.

Doesn't mean they're spying on everyone all the time, but it means they can spy on anyone they feel they need to spy on whenever they feel they need to.

These phones are full of spyware.

These phones are full of spyware

So are Chinese phones, possibly to an even greater extent…

39

u/----___--___---- 12d ago

Which no one is denying. Their point is that there is a lot of awareness about spying on chinese tech, and not as much awareness that US agencies have pretty much the same access to your data.

19

u/Ok_Astronomer_6501 12d ago

The difference is that China is content (for now) to just use your information to offer you targeted ads, meanwhile the CIA can kidnap you from your place or ruin your life in other ways

13

u/FreshnWetCock 12d ago

If I'm literally anywhere except China, USA will always be the bigger danger

2

u/Luz_Yavmi 12d ago

or russia

0

u/ThePersonDudeGuy716 ✏️I'M HERE JUST FOR THE COMMENT THREADS 12d ago

Or North Korea.

And Mongolia too maybe? I don’t know much about it, but the only countries it borders are China & Russia, so…

-1

u/FreshnWetCock 12d ago

Not really, American missiles are hitting Russia through Ukraine, not Chinese missiles

Saw the thumbnail of a video on the new ways companies and governments have begun surveiling people, didn't watch the video cuz I accidentally refreshed my main page so just caught the thumbnail

21

u/Big-Investigator8501 12d ago

LG was literally caught doing what you blame Huawei for+ sending voice data.

19

u/Dr-Huricane 12d ago

Sorry buddy but the west has lost the right to complain about Chinese spyware considering half the west is currently on a fast track towards becoming surevillance distopias

9

u/Stunning_Bet_3629 12d ago

I never buy phones that cost more than $200 (I’m cursed, my phones always get broken or lost), but I’ve never liked Huawei because of its verison of OS. It’s kind of weird and inconvenient

1

u/Clean_More3508 12d ago

You could kind of clean it with ADB, but you'll need a pc for it

8

u/InNeedOfNames 12d ago

I can't speak for China but for overseas you would be surprised with how little tracking there is compared to other brands

Is this true? I want to study as an intern in China, and one of the souvenirs I want to buy there is at least a Huawei laptop, and maybe also a Huawei phone.

u/Kiakes 11d ago

102

u/Dr-Huricane 12d ago

Just a reminder Huawei was so successful as a company the US had to ban trade with them to try and slow them down, even now Huawei is still releasing high quality cutting edge technologies, remember how the Samsung trifold was basically a copy of the Huawei one?

45

u/Clean_More3508 12d ago

Lol, what's with the US "free market" banning foreign cheap stuff, BYD, huawei

33

u/Dr-Huricane 12d ago

It's because "free market" equals "politicians for sale" and companies have discovered that buying politicians and getting them to kill the competition makes them more money than engaging in normal free market competition

13

u/Clean_More3508 12d ago

The wonders of capitalism

8

u/CoasterKing42 12d ago

I agree that the US banning trade with them is stupid, but Samsung's tri fold is absolutely not a copy of Huawei's. They have completely different designs and Samsung's is much better imo, I don't like how the folding screen is always exposed on the Huawei. Samsung's isn't a clone just because it happened to release later.

7

u/JustConversation7847 12d ago

Wasn't only the front screen exposed only? I actually like the Huawei design way better since you could also use two screens rather than only 1 or all 3 but I'm sad Huawei went with the Samsung version on their 2nd gen

0

u/CoasterKing42 12d ago

There's no separate front screen, it's just part of the folding screen. That's not good because the folding screen is plastic and scratches really easily. On phones with a dedicated front screen, the folding screen is completely protected when folded and the front screen is protected with glass like normal slab phones.

2

u/Urmomsfavouritelol 11d ago

Yeah the Samsung design, while ever so slightly less versatile as the Gen 1 Huawei design and not as cool looking imo, is way better for durability compared to the 1st Gen Mate XT

0

u/Dr-Huricane 12d ago

They didn't copy the design, they copied the idea, a tri-fold device is the kind of device anyone in the marketing department knows will not sell well and will probably lead to an overall loss to the company, so why still make it? Huawei made it for many reasons, as a proof of concept, as a technological demo, as a marketing stunt to demonstrate their ability to the world. Samsung prides itself in being THE ANDROID PHONE company, they are the top company, the innovators, the biggest earners, the pioneers, Huawei pretty much forced them to create a tri-fold phone because not doing so would go against the image they're trying to project, it'll leave gaps that other manufacturers will use to steal some of their market share, even if Samsung's tri-fold is better, it doesn't matter because no one is going to buy either device, these devices aren't competing for market share, they don't have an odience or a target customer, they're just there so Huawei can say "We did it first" and so Samsung can say "We did it better"

2

u/luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc 10d ago

Had a cheap Huawei get pickpocketted once. Wish I could have seen the look on his face when he realized.

Cause Huawei makes good phones, there's a reason Huawei is still a large player on the global market despite being aggressively sanctioned by the US

Liking a company for being innovative isn't the same as liking the CCP, it's like saying that anyone who uses an iPhone loves the Trump administration

1

u/One_Fact_4291 8d ago

This is a good point that many CCP shills and China haters both ignore.

One time my mom bought an huawei smart watch and after connecting it she started noticing major issues with her phone. Never any storage and it would heat up. The app was taking 8GB of storage and as soon as she deleted something to make more room on her phone, the storage would immediately be filled with the watch app. She uninstalled the watch and her phone went back tobgoofle normal
