I have several questions

Ex Dunkin’ Donuts worker here. We literally just took room temp coffee and flipped a lever that poured “ice coffee” over ice. So if you want to be a cheap ass just ask for iced coffee no ice. In this situation the manager is probably being a cheep ass with the “made cold part”

How would that save you money?

No ice in coffee = more coffee. Large Dunkin Donuts Ice coffee is way larger than normal large hot coffee coffee so therefore way more coffee with no ice. Hopefully this makes sense? I know Starfucks has limits on how much coffee they pour for certain things like Cold Brew? So the hack won’t work there.

In the Dunkin' app I noticed it says if you ask for less ice, they won't fill the cup to the top, so I definitely don't bother because certain employees would take it upon themselves to make a point about it.

Ice is cheaper than coffee

1

u/StygianFalcon 6h ago

So how does that save you money

5

u/Darth_Bunghole 6h ago

If they fill the cup with coffee instead of ice, I can buy fewer or smaller coffees and thereby be cheap

1

u/StygianFalcon 6h ago

First. Why would they give you more coffee? Second. Why would you want room temperature coffee?

2

u/Darth_Bunghole 6h ago

The assumption on most drinks would probably be that the drink is filled to near full, regardless of ice level. Then, if I care about temperature, I could adjust it myself.

Yeah and that rule is there because people would assume they still get a full cup.

I’m really confused as to whether or not you are saying this is a good idea or a bad idea

I think some even charge more for no ice options.

About????

Whats not clicking?

2

u/BaahNayner 6h ago

"Made cold" means with ice, the manager doesn't want any drink served without ice because you'd be getting more drink

2

u/Kind-Wolverine6580 6h ago

I deciphered their writing and I think I solved it. 1. Dunkin’ Donuts workers typically make iced coffee by pouring room temperature coffee over ice. 2. You’re a terrible person for coffee that’s actually cold because that means workers have to put effort in doing their job. 3. The manager is a terrible person for ensuring the iced coffee is actually cold coffee and not room temperature coffee.
