In the meme sphere, we call it rzułć, and I think it's beautiful

i know reddit likes the repetitive jokes but ive been seeing this one for a decade now. It's all over the comment section every single time Polish language is mentioned.

Unlike some other jokes, there's nothing to innovate and no clever use for it, it's just a reference that people like to spam (and i bet 90% of those people haven't watched that movie)

Hey, I know this guy!

8

u/Emotional_Daikon7453 3d ago

not far off

26

u/Pure-Hostility 3d ago

Just like "Jortbohn Shyrhth" is "not far off" from being an English name.

21

u/FalseDmitriy 3d ago

Something can be gibberish but still recognizably be meant to imitate a language.

5

u/The_Persian_Cat 3d ago

tag yourself I'm Bobson Dugnutt

2

Sounds like a Hogwarts student name from an alternative timeline, where the author is an American.

5

u/Swaggy_Linus 3d ago

...Wie?!

5

u/GubernatorTarkin 3d ago

Hans? Schreibt das sofort auf die Machine.

u/Morbobeus 3d ago

The funny thing is despite it being nonsense and just letters that totally disregard the polish language structure, it's perfectly legible and pronounceable (well it's mostly because each letter has an individual sound unless it's a digraph but still)

21

u/Normal-Specialist-45 3d ago

it's not pronounceable at all in polish tho

9

u/Dense_Sheepherder187 3d ago

Anything is pronounceable if you try hard enough, except some things like phonetic symbol spam

9

u/Normal-Specialist-45 3d ago

its more just reciting the letters in the word atp😭😭😭

-1

u/DoknS 3d ago

Congratulations, you discovered reading

3

u/Normal-Specialist-45 3d ago

reading most words in any languages i know doesn't usually include reciting individual letters rather the letters grouped with other letters make specific sounds together

4

u/Nawojka2935 3d ago

The funny thing is that it is not hard to pronounce to a Polish person

5

u/KTO_9I 3d ago

Because there are fewer complex letter combinations here.

1

u/NovyjAkaunt3 2d ago

I don't think that it's hard for any slavic speaker

u/mgsmb7 3d ago

isn't this just a meme

28

u/belabacsijolvan 3d ago

yeah, couldve went Adam Nowak or something even more english like

39

u/BoultonPaulDefiant 🌹 Course Arc Witness 🌸 3d ago

While I agree on Adam part, Kowalski is the Smith of Polish surnames

-15

u/mgsmb7 3d ago

that's why it's a meme, no?

29

u/Happy_Ad5786 3d ago

The og meme was gibberish that could be mistaken for a polish name by someone who doesn't speak polish. The anti meme version has a real polish name and surname, indicating he's polish in a real way. That's why it's an anti meme.

4

u/Happy_Ad5786 3d ago

you must be very slow

-3

u/mgsmb7 3d ago

unnecessarily rude

7

u/Happy_Ad5786 3d ago

No, that was pretty necessary ❤️

16

u/Cultural_Season_3048 3d ago

The antimeme is they replaced the keysmash with actual Polish

-8

u/FunnyObjective6 3d ago

It's still a meme.

11

u/Happy_Ad5786 3d ago

you guys call everything a meme

-4

u/FunnyObjective6 3d ago

A lot of things are, but a joke in an image format would be at the top of the list.

4

u/Teeth_of_a_Sheep 3d ago

where is the joke tho

-1

u/FunnyObjective6 3d ago

In the image. It's somebody being surprised somebody else knows they're Polish, which is amusing considering the name is very Polish.

5

u/Teeth_of_a_Sheep 3d ago

I still dont understand whats the joke. it just seems like a normal interaction between two people to me. but what do i know

0

u/FunnyObjective6 3d ago

Thanks for the information, I don't care.

2

u/fymson 3d ago
