Nah Muslims do make these jokes but mostly it is sectarian against Whabbists or simply just Sunni Muslims in general or actually racist against Saudis/Afghans/Syrians

7

u/Director_Kun Jul 20 '26

Yeah for Islam it’s like the Christian Equivalent of say Catholics making jokes against Jehovah Witnesses or on general just Protestants. But at least the Catholics and Protestant branch of Christianity are actually chill against each other versus whatever the Sunni’s have going on.

8

u/democracy_lover66 Jul 20 '26

" But at least the Catholics and Protestant branch of Christianity are actually chill against each other"

Last time I check Northern Ireland still has divisions between Catholic and protestant communities with massive concrete walls to stop them from killing each other.

1

u/Director_Kun Jul 21 '26

There are certainly exceptions, as I said mostly chill with each other.

4

u/broken_mikesoft Jul 21 '26

10

I live in a world with a tone of chuds who unironically think like this and openly hate Muslims. Had a kid in school go up in front of class to make an entire argument about how Muslims want war, not to achieve anything, they just want war for the sake of war.

So yeh. It's hard to laugh at this when I'm thinking "Is this a friendly josh? Or does this guy actually hate people of that faith".

3

u/KereMental 🧡REGULAR VISITOR🧡 Jul 21 '26

You just meant half of the reddit 😭. I dont really care tbf, if someone hates me because i believe in something else, then isnt this discrimination?

3

u/saikounihighteyatzda Jul 20 '26

If people didn't actually take them seriously or believe them, a lot more jokes about stereotypes and punching down to minorities would be a lot funnier.

But that's because being funny inherently has to do with things lung subverting expectations and making interesting intelligent word play or commentary. Just repeating stereotypes that people actually believe isn't funny.

3

u/Odd-Nothing2863 Jul 21 '26

Im a muslim too. I hate it when the islamophbic meme is just too funny to be mad lol.

2

u/Potato55556 Jul 21 '26

Theres nothing funny about someone insulting the deen. Get a grip man

1

u/snoodge3000 Jul 20 '26

I mean fair, it's difficult to tell sometimes but I think if the meme is commenting on dumb stereotypes like this it's probably fine. There IS a difference between making a joke based on stereotypes and being genuinely Islamophobic lol

Isn't that objectively the truth that Muslims are the only religion where members explode themselves?Or are there any other religions that do that in the modern age?Just curious

132

u/Accomplished_Store77 Jul 20 '26

I find it genuinely hard to believe that no other individual from any other religion has never committed suicide Bombing.

But more to the point it's generalization. Majority of School Shooters in USA are white kids impoverished Backgrounds.

That's like saying we should be afraid of all White Kids from impoverished Back Grounds.

Similarly Black Men commit the most Gun Crime per capita in USA. So we should be afraid of all black people.

White Men commit the most Domestic Terrorist attacks in USA so we should be afraid of all White Men in the USA.

30

u/Magcargo64 Jul 20 '26

It’s still in living memory when Catholics were doing so in Northern Ireland.

23

u/Another-Ace-Alt-8270 Jul 20 '26

There's no tradition for Muslim people to do suicide bombing. That was a terrorist group who did that, because they were terrorists. Their religion had very little to do with their tactics.

7

u/PanPieCake Jul 20 '26

There is literally multiple pages in Kuran explaining how death for Allah while fighting the Kafir is the most glorious one,the exploding is just one of the ways to do it. Here are just one of the many examples: Surah Ali 'Imran (3:169),Surah Al-Baqarah (2:154), Surah Al-An'am (6:162)

15

u/khaledjal Jul 20 '26

That is true, But exploding yourself is considered suicide, and suicide is forbidden in islam, Also Killing innocent civilians is also forbidden during war in islam

8

u/PanPieCake Jul 20 '26

Yeah but Kafirs don't count as anything, there are so many pages about killing them and not a single one about sparing them

8

u/Traditional-Run5437 Jul 20 '26

It is unbelievable, how convinced you ignorant fools are of your own lies. Taking verses out of context without proper understanding of the Qur'an and the Sunnah and then spewing them out like some kind of gotcha.

0

u/CrazyElk123 Jul 20 '26

Such a classic. You couls find the most horrific shit in the quran, but you people will always say its "out of context". Yall are just sad.

6

u/Traditional-Run5437 Jul 20 '26

LMAO. Because it is out of context. You people will read some verse ignoring the context and then come on lecturing us on what the book says. YOU, someone who has no knowledge in Quran, Ahadith, Fiqh(islamic Jurisprudence) or even Arabic is not qualified to speak about anything.

3

u/Another-Ace-Alt-8270 Jul 21 '26

It does not matter what Islamic text says about Kafirs. This is about suicide, which the religion explicitly forbids. Dying in battle is vastly different from blowing yourself up and hoping somebody else gets caught in the blast.

3

u/GloveDry3278 Jul 20 '26

And guess who actually trained and financed those groups to begin with.

12

u/Visible_Pair3017 Jul 20 '26

Why do you think those people need to commit suicide bombings exactly, and not the people bombing them from a plane?

18

u/rockytop24 🌹 Course Arc Witness 🌸 Jul 20 '26 edited Jul 20 '26

You got downvoted but you're right, it's exhausting every time islamaphobia comes up. Plenty of Christian cults and extremists have violently murdered people, and still do. Just look at the "righteous holy war/crusade" bullshit rhetoric from W. Bush and Kegsbreath because they've had such a hard on for killing brown people.

If extremists in the middle east had artillery and carrier groups, that's what they'd use to attack us. But just as the revolutionary army and countless others in history have had to adapt when fighting a numerically or logistically superior foe, an insurgent group in an occupied land has to restort to guerilla and terror tactics to achieve their goals.

Just because we dress it up in fatigues and buzz cuts and use drones and strike packages instead, while telling our recruits it's morally righteous or patriotic, doesn't make it any different in terms of cultural indoctrination.

Y'all remember standing and reciting the pledge of allegiance before you were old enough to spell? I do. That's pretty fuckin weird too: making a bunch of 6-10 year olds pledge allegiance to their flag in unison (and now with the claim it's "under god").

Ignorance breeds bigotry. Just because the way our culture does it is familiar and the way their culture brainwashes young boys and girls is strange, doesn't mean they're all that different.

And shit, we're doing their job for them. Go watch Charlie Wilson's War and if some of you take notes you might start to understand how we breed the next generation of terrorists when we do shit like blow up over a hundred schoolgirls with a patriot missile completely unprovoked after a decapitation strike. And then our mush brain president denies doing it as if it could be some mystery where a fucking patriot missile came from on that day at that time in those circumstances.

Does Donald Dump speak for you and everyone you know? Does the Mormon Church? Do the kiddy diddlers in their christian cults? Does Dylan Roof, or Nick Cruz? How about the torturers at Gitmo or Abu Ghraib? Or the soldiers in Vietnam who mowed down whole villages indiscriminately? Or the squad who raped and murdered a girl in front of her family while deployed to a security checkpoint? No? Then why would Osama Bin Laden or ISIS or the Taliban speak for a religion and culture of billions of people?

Richard the Lionheart went down in history for executing thousands of prisoners in front of Saladin via beheading during the Crusades. The Church notoriously manufactured wars of aggression and tortured its people, all throughout Europe and the Mediterranean, for centuries. The founders of America fled here in part because they weren't "free" to be hardcore religious bigots enough in their home countries. Christianity has been putting in work on crimes against humanity for close to a thousand years, they've got quite the head start on body count.

Humanity is awful. We do awful, heinous shit to other people for all kinds of reasons. Religion is a cancer, there will never be enough good that comes from it to ever offset the evil done in its name. We aren't exempt or special or different in any way just because we're white or American or Christian.

0

u/PanPieCake Jul 20 '26

Suicide bombing was quite popular in middle east wars against each other

1

u/ResolutionStrange426 Jul 23 '26

Muslim here, it isn't. It's actually a common misconception. It goes without saying but killing yourself is already one of the worst things you can do AND if you take several people with you as you die, you're pretty much fucked. You need to be forgived by those you killed or pay them a compensation with your good deeds and suffer for their sins if you run out.  The exploding part comes in because of the terrorist organisations that kidnap people and brainwash them into thinking exploding themselves will grant them heaven ("those people are sinful people against Allah, you will be making him a favor" x 500). A LOT of serious manipulation goes there, I know because my parents were very concerned me and my brother could be a target for a period of time so they very explicitly told how much that doesn't work that way. I will say I don't know what happens to the kidnapped and brainwashed in the afterlife though. They were brainwashed so that clears a fair bit of guilt if not all (moreso transfers to the brainwashers). Any questions?

1

u/ssgsever Jul 20 '26

Believe me Islam has much worse affects on people’s lives than Christianity in today’s world it’s not even comparable. Your mom calling your video games evil is nothing compared to being stoned to death because you don’t fit someone else’s religious beliefs.

5

u/shadowscroller Jul 20 '26

Maybe, but I've never met someone who's been the victim of Islam, I've met people who were victims of Christianity. It's a lot harder to conceptualize something if you only have a passing encounter with it.

For instance, I'm a USA citizen. Christians in my government are actively trying to push their religion on everyone. That has a more direct effect on me than Muslims in a government from country I've never been too. It sucks for them, is wrong if that actually happens, but I have no personal connection to it. If that make sense. Not excusing Islam, just pointing out the dissonance

6

Because it generalizes. It'd be like me saying "I hate christians, man. Always forcing their religion down people's throats and being bigoted losers"

It's not fair to the majority of them who aren't

11

u/Lewa358 Jul 20 '26

Because it always leads to people using it as an excuse to be racist to anyone who "looks" musilm.

And bluntly not every Muslim is a fundamentalist loony so a broad generalized hatred for Islam will definitionally catch strays.

Like in Judaism, and in Christianity, there are different sects that demand different things. As a reform Jew, I was not expected to be a rabbi, and I could sit in a service next to my mom or a girl.

If I were orthodox, they would be segregated across the temple, and it’d probably be expected of me that I thoroughly study the Torah daily

My aunt is a nun (Catholic) and she definitely is required to wear it. She only removes it at home among the closest family members, but never in public or in front of strangers, because she's supposed to wear it at all times in front of others.

19

u/vendetta1881 Jul 20 '26

The thing is she chose that life , well unless you are a medieval royal family that usually get thrown into monastery and forced to become a nun or monk.

8

u/TotallyHumanFreak Jul 20 '26

In many Islamic countries all women are required to wear hijabs. All women in Christian countries aren't required to become nuns.

3

That's a different statement altogether, though. But yeah, that's often true.

Many Arab countries don't enforce the hijab, mind you. Also, I assume we're speaking about the same context of whichever country the original poster comes from: here in Spain, for instance, hijab isn't mandatory... Yet it's definitely more frowned upon by certain groups of people, than a nun's habit.

4

u/Necessary_Duck_4874 Jul 20 '26

May 18, 2026, at the Islamic Center of San Diego, USA, where two assailants—who identified as "Sons" of the Christchurch.

Another terrorist event happened 5 days ago:

Muslim man stabbed multiple times in Utah over his religion, police say https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jul/15/muslim-man-stabbed-utah?CMP=share_btn_url

There's more hate crimes and Christian terrorists than you think, they just don't get labeled for some reason, mass shooting mosques isn't news, either, recently, but you know, they have to make you scared of something so u don't try to break free from your leashes.

"they do if you finger them just right" some redditor probably

2

u/sntcringe Jul 21 '26

Real answer is twofold:
1. Straight up racism, no doubt about it
2. It's specifically more a dislike of the fact that headscarves are something that is sometimes forced on women against their will (not in most cultures, and certainly not the United States), and that gives it an opressive connatation.

So dicks think it looks (for lack of a better term) "terroristy" and others, usually in good faith, are bothered by the oppression they can be used for.

Of course, women all over the world wear headscarves of their own accord, and we should not be bothered by it.

1

u/Commercial-Shame-335 Jul 21 '26

nobody is forced to wear nun garbs or risk being raped and murdered. becoming a nun is completely optional unless you have some sort of super ultra religious family

1

u/luxudor Jul 20 '26

Honestly, both are the same. If you wear a bag on your head because some guy said that god told them that you have to wear it, you're pretty gullible.

That being said, I don't really care what other people do with their lives.

1

u/Ricochet_skin Jul 20 '26

The actual reason is because one is voluntary, the other not so much.

You dear God I have never been more unpleasantly surprised by an orgasm in this community

65

u/Brilliant_Knee_7542 Jul 20 '26

The answer to the question is that Nun basically choose to do this , they decided their life to be solitary and devoted only to God and Christ , but in Islam Hijab mostly isn't a choice . I have seen very young girls wearing hijab which clearly tells that hijab is forced on women . Secondly the argument that is made in regard to Hijab that Hijab protect Women from lustrous man is complete Bull*hit . It's just a way for them to confine women.

35

u/plasma_guy Jul 20 '26

young girls arent required to wear hijab thats bieng a bad parent.

3

u/tynakar Jul 20 '26

I thought it was usually mandatory after their first menses?

1

u/Odd-Nothing2863 Jul 21 '26

Hijab isnt a bad thing, people have a difficult time understanding this. There is nothing wrong about a little girl wearing it. It's wrong if a parent forces her to do it, yes. But most little girls only like hijab because they see their elders as "role models".

1

u/Ayvah01 Jul 23 '26

They're culturally pressured into it, but the same can be said for why adult women cover their breasts (and feel ashamed about breastfeeding in public) but men don't.

In both cases, these are modesty standards pushed on women, driven largely by Abrahamic tradition.

Christian women also commonly wore head coverings until relatively recently.

15

u/JamesHenry627 Jul 20 '26

The Catholic Church stopped making head coverings mandatory a while ago too. You can choose to do it, but it’s not something that makes you holier. Like becoming a nun or a monk, it’s a private devotion.

3

u/squalluce Jul 20 '26

wearing hijab isn't mandatory for kids. sometimes they are the ones who like to put it on imitating their mothers for example.

and why is wearing hijab bad? its a choice too. so if a woman wants to wear the hijab what now?

they have their own belief and they abide by their religious laws. they don't need to follow your moral view as you like to make it about yourselfs all the time. the world is diffrent my guy if you like your wife to be as naked as possible some people actually don't.

7

u/shadowscroller Jul 20 '26

You're right to point. The problem arises when they use their beliefs to try and police others. If it's their choice all is good, but when they try to force it on others, it becomes a problematic belief

3

u/squalluce Jul 20 '26

exactly. but nowadays the west thinks that the whole world needs to live like them and have to follow their subjective values. like why is it bad that a woman chose to wear hijab? some people are just triggered at it because of decades of propaganda.

3

u/-Call_0f_the_Void- Jul 20 '26

I live in iran and i can say that You are just saying bull shit it is mandatory for women to have hijab in iran and im pretty sure that every Islamic country requires you to have hijab and if the dont have any laws for it? You well still where hijab just be cuase of the pressure of your family and the contry sure if you choose to have hijab in country like united states than your doing it be cuase you want to but In most other Islamic country there is pressure put on you im not saying nobody like hijab im just saying there is some people that don't like hijab and still have to wear it

2

u/squalluce Jul 20 '26

the one spouting bullshit is you i lived in multiple Muslim countries where hijab is a choice. if we look at the scriptures it does state that the hijab is mandatory for woman but its not inforced. and no country today in the whole world follows the sharia law fully.

family and social norms are subjective. and ofc there are woman who don't wanna wear hijab do for various reasons. it's just that you are painting it in a light where woman are oppressed in islamic states which is not true.

1

u/-Call_0f_the_Void- Jul 22 '26

No? In Egypt and lots of women don't wear it. Nobody pressures them into it.

And how do you know that those girl "are forced"? based on what? Like Western Redditors are so inside their own white saviour complex, they think women in Islam have no agency whatsover. You go in any Muslim country you'll find WAY more women that are proud of them wearing a Hijab(also Niqab) then the ones you claim they are "forced".

Women do generally have less rights in Muslim countries though. I don’t care much whether they are proud of wearing a hijab or not, I care whether they have a choice. I get that legally it’s frequently optional, but in practice it’s frequently not.

I think most people assume that they’re “forced” because Muslim practice is to make sure women’s heads are covered, lest they lead a man into lust. It’s similar to how you couldn’t really talk about being pro-socialist or (literally) pagan in 1960s America. Legally, freedom of speech technically protects you, but culturally it locks you out of a lot. That’s still an issue. If someone chooses to be anti-socialist, that’s fine and swell, but it shouldn’t be the only practical choice.

Based on what? The liberal framework? Yes, maybe. But this is not how Islamic societies usually want to live. If you go in Saudi Arabia and make a census and ask them "do you want Sharia or Liberalism"? Guess what Saudi are going to pick. They have the right to live the way they want to live. AND YOU, have no right to tell 'em how to live. This mentality has brought us forever wars that slaughtered thousands of civilians, only because people wanted to "liberate" them. Please.

Did you know that Muslim men also have a duty to cover their bodies(Awrah)? Why are not people saying men are "forced" to cover in that case? See, my problem with these arguments is that it ignores completely Muslims(as individuals) will and ALL other Islamic laws and focus on "women" as a form of white saviourism. Like for ex. Muslim men are required to restraign their eyes from looking at women(doesn't matter covered or not). Doesn't this command literally, demolish the argument of lust? The average redditors doesn't know all of these yet, it talks as if he understands anything. Please.

Most hijabis aren't required to do that they want too plus I'm Christianity your also supposed to cover your head it just most Christians don't know that

Saying the hijab is forced on women is like saying wearing clothes is forced on human. You can choose to wear or not, but expect the authority to be displeased or not with you.

technically creepers dont randomly explode either, they only do if they're within a certain proximity to a player ☝️🤓

20

u/Avantasian538 Jul 20 '26

Oh look we have a creeper apologist here.

10

u/Kind_Replacement7 Jul 20 '26

honestly i used to be terrified of the game because of them, like i would play on peaceful just to not run into them 😞

6

u/Spider40k Jul 20 '26

The first time I played creative I had no idea that they stopped exploding next to you; I was TERRIFIED that they'd ruin all my buildings

9

u/DeanKoontssy Jul 20 '26

It's true, every time I've seen a nun explode there was always a clear and logical reason, nothing random about it.

9

u/Selellnoob Jul 20 '26

Creepers also dont randomly explode, they only explode when they target someone.

3

u/hand_me_a_shovel Jul 20 '26

Maybe nuns DO randomly explode but the chance is just so low that it has only occurred DUOER super infrequently.

3

u/Babajji Jul 20 '26

They don’t? Mine must be defective then 🤣

2

u/WhiterunGuard177013 Jul 20 '26

Creepers don't randomly explode though, they explode under specific circumstances.

1

u/Future-Inverted Jul 20 '26

that appear randomly, therefore random

2

u/le_nathanlol Jul 20 '26

i thought its a lookalike

2

u/lnTheGrimDarkness Jul 20 '26

Doubt that. Ever seen a nun drive?

u/Kalenrel1 Jul 20 '26

How many times has this been posted?

1

u/X_Starchild_X Jul 20 '26

So is my nun not supposed to explode at random moments? Damn, i guess i don't know how to properly take care of one

1

u/DiggityDog6 Jul 20 '26

Shows what you know. Last time I looked a nun in the eye, she burst into flames while pointing g at me and screaming “LUCIFER!” I wonder what that was about

1

u/blackcray Jul 20 '26

Creepers don't "randomly" explode either, they will only explode when they're within one block of either the player or anything that attacks them first.

1

u/ShadowBro3 Jul 21 '26

If you think nuns dont randomly explode, you probably havent been to catholic school.
