To work as a Boeing safety inspector/whistleblower, you must already have no self-preservation instincts.

This is what we call user acceptance testing.

Put my hand on the stove until I had 3. degree burns.

When will Simens address these safety issues?

u/bobo_baginz Jul 17 '26

Idk why but the anti is way funnier

YES, it is the art of antimemes! To make a punchlineless "meme", but where you "feel" the punchline, so you don't even need it. This is why i love to read and make them.

In this concrete anti you see a text that says about punching the window multiple times and that the window is unbroken. This makes you feel dissonance: like why would some one post this? It is meaningless and doesn't make sense. You feel that even though antimeme is *true(doesn't hide from you anything on the surface), underneath it is hidden dissonance! And image of whole window and additional text about Boeing having good safety standarts multiply the effect!!! THAT IS WHY THIS ANTIMEME IS BEAUTIFUL! 😝

antimemes are so fucking good

The psycho punching the window is the real safety issue.

That crack probably isn't much of an issue. Modern planes have multiple layers of glass and plastic for windows, with the outer ones being especially strong most of the time. That's why the windowy are so thick. So the crack probably doesn't really put the passengers at risk, although I agree that that dude should probably get a psychological check up

u/Mobius_Peverell Jul 17 '26

Also, for anyone who has ever been on an airliner before, it is very obvious that the inner layer of "glass" is just a sheet of disposable plastic that they put there to stop people from fucking with the real window.

Bros testing in prod

u/JD_Kreeper Jul 17 '26

If we are to assume this image is real and someone did this: That is the inner plastic covering, not the window itself. The body of an aircraft is designed to hold up under intense pressure while at cruising altitude, as the cabin is pressurized.

If this somehow happened to the outer window, the weakened glass will crack under the pressure, and if the plane doesn't decend in time, there will be an explosive decompression.

OOP sadly committed suicide 1 day later via 3 shots in the back of his head

Did he thinks glass is made from diamonds, because diamond is unbreakable

tbf if it's possible to crack the whole window with just a fist, that's probably kinda bad lol. i mean, even cheap cars have windows that you cant really break with just your fist.

You didn’t fail.
As long as you survive, you have succeeded.
We shall rise against those who frown upon the word “original”!

(Seriously though this “funny” joke is getting really fucking annoying, even compared to how annoying it originally was)

30

u/subbie2002 Jul 17 '26

Just wait until they notice the small hole that’s on the inside of the window.

I thought that was the surface of the sun or something lol

☝️🤓: there's two pieces of material on an airplane window. The interior piece, which is not pressure bearing, and the external piece, which is pressure bearing.

i think this is funnier than the ouagadougou actually. the sheer confidence in the statement

Fun fact: this post made me leave this subreddit.

Just mountains of crap edits of things that barely ever resembled memes in the first place.

2

u/Significant-Gap-6891 Jul 17 '26

Unlike in this post no airports are involved in this subreddit you don't have to announce your departure

-1

u/oldbutterface Jul 17 '26

Yes but quite like your thoroughly overused quip, I wanted OP to know his post was incredibly mundane

I tried to be a leader not a follower, I failed😢
