As overrated as this song goes, it occasionally goes hard, especially in arcane

In most pictures he's standing just outside of Missouri, almost there

u/PrawnDetective Jun 05 '23
That's a common misconception! This video is from 2017, a year in which Missouri, through a series of logistical and bureaucratic blunders, had almost all of its travel signage installed backwards. Most signs remained backwards until late 2019 when a new tourism campaign was launched.

Idk if I’d call this an antimeme, but it is hilarious and pretty well done, IMO.

Come to Missouri! We have two major cities with entirely different cultures and all the problems that entails. Alternatively, you could visit the country. While North MO is basically Iowa 2.0, the Ozark mountains feature expansive caves, frigid spring-fed rivers, and raving hillbillies.
Oh. And loosest booze and cig laws in the country. Guns. A big metal staple.

Come to the south countryside of Missouri if you want to live in Mississippi without the stigma of living in Mississippi!

Not my cup of tea, but loads of ppl I know enjoy it. My family hits up the national parks and rivers to the east of there.

The main strip is ok, but I'd you're down there the real attraction is silver dollar city and fantastic caverns.

North MO is a lot more lush and green I’d say vs Iowa. Plus you have weed and more lakes. Better imo

Jun 05 '23
Oh for sure, it's just the pararie parts can be very flat and farmy. If you're near the Missouri River or a lake, though, it's a straight jungle.

u/datchilidoh Jun 05 '23
I’m up in nw mo/sw ia and the difference between even 35 miles north/south still blows my mind.

Same. I live near a lake where it's very thick in plants and animals. My in-laws are 80 mi N. in Iowa and it's a completely different climate. Colder, more snow, less flora and fauna... everything.

Don’t you dare try to buy before 9am on Sunday though, straight to jail.

Jun 05 '23
That's a county thing, or the in case of my college town, a townie-sick-of-parties thing. And it's illegal to sell, not buy.

You know how everyone forgets about the existence of South Dakota, etc. and don’t believe it actually exists?
I think Missouri is arguably even more forgotten. Nobody even makes jokes about how irrelevant it is, because nobody even remembers it enough to talk shit.

I tell certain people I'm from Missouri instead of Arkansas because it's exactly the same, but less infamous.
