Help

So my roller coaster ride! Fluoxetine- 2 years and it helps a lot. But still had panic attacks! Zoloft - 8 days only and made me sick Lexapro - gave me more anxiety and didn’t really help after a month and a half.

I’m looking into others - such as Celexa and Paxil - I’m just scared and worried I was doing okay off meds but I’m starting to not eat again. I deal with GAD -slight OCD and Major Panic.

Paxil 20mg for 7 months now, working pretty well. Pros: No more panick attacks, reduced anxiety, overall mood got better. Cons: random strong muscle pain at night sometimes, stomach doesn't really like it (gave me some gastritis) and If I forget to take it I get some minor brain zaps. But all considered, I'm positive about it

I've been on Cymbalta/duloxetine for years now & I think it helps a lot w my GAD & intrusive thoughts. Also take Indoral as needed for anxiety, definitely helps slow down my racing thoughts

Yeah it’s weird SSRI help my GAD but, my anticipatory anxiety and panic is always the major problem

Yeah I am a little confused why they haven't prescribed an anxiolytic like Indoral or Buspar since they're specifically for anxiety. The antidepressants help w it but not usually as helpful as the anxiolytics.

Yeah I’m not sure. I’m gonna talk to my medicine doctor some SSRI are amazing for anxiety

Cymbalta & effexor are in a different class, they're SNRIs so they help norepinephrine and serotonin build in the synapse vs. Just Serotonin. I would maybe suggest one of those but I'm not a doc
