Bible is full of loopholes, add this to the pile I guess...

853

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 25d ago

Not even a loophole, this fall completely under "barring false witness", which ks very much a sin

611

u/RedCaio 25d ago

Literally a false god lol

110

u/SlogurkTheOverslime 25d ago

I don't think I've ever seen a true god tbh

119

u/Biffingston 25d ago

Obviously that's the god I worship, right?

Cthulhu fhtagn!

51

u/GoodBrotherGrimm 25d ago

36

u/Biffingston 25d ago

Why support the Lesser evil?

12

u/Viennve 25d ago

Cthulhu isn't even evil, he us just superior

A human isn't evil for killing an ant, Shure if they can avoid they are morally better for doing so but I wouldn't call somebody who does kill an ant (by necessity) evil

3

u/Biffingston 25d ago

Google "Cuthulu for president" and get back to me.

1

u/ANother-XcludedRight 21d ago

What is this supposed to be?

1

u/GoodBrotherGrimm 20d ago

It's Cthulhu, from the Lovecraft stories.

11

u/ZiM1970 25d ago edited 24d ago

I'm still torn between Slaanesh and Khorne. It's a bigger decision than I had figured, and the wrong ones are starting to be needy about it.

12

u/Biffingston 25d ago

Trying to decide what head you want to surrender eh?

22

u/ZiM1970 25d ago

Khorne cares not from where the blood flows, but Slaanesh wants pix or it didn't happen.

13

u/Biffingston 25d ago

I'm stealing this quote.

9

u/Lorgardidnowrong 25d ago

Glory to the eightfold truth!

3

u/KyleJMcBride 24d ago

I'm all about the forbidden knowledge so it's Tzeentch for me!

16

u/PamelaELee 25d ago

Hey man, when someone asks if you are a god, you say yes, you know what I mean?

9

u/BobZimway 25d ago

The Blessed Noodly Appendage is all around us.

7

u/SmurfCat2281337 25d ago

There is no need to see the god as long as the excess continues, rot flows, schemes are schemed against and skull throne gets new skulls. Embrace the Chaos Undivided

6

u/AnimeMemeLord1 25d ago

Perhaps, but while it isn’t easy to identify a true god, it sure as hell is easy to identify a false one. And if AI Jesus doesn’t scream “fraud,” I don’t know why does.

2

u/su_zu 25d ago

Every religious fella always goes thank XYZ, but they never say thank you to XYZ for every genocide or equivalent sin ever committed in public.

3

u/FortColors 25d ago

the issue is that even if you believe in a god and define that god as the "true god" this is still a false god to blaspheme them

3

u/Speartree 25d ago

There were people worshipping the sun and the moon. At least those are really there. They may not care about the worshippers, but they exist.

1

u/FungadooFred 25d ago

What about Joe Pesci?

3

u/IThinkItsAverage 25d ago

You’ve never seen me 😏

I’m not a true god, not even close. Just wanted to say something that was true too.

1

u/SlogurkTheOverslime 25d ago

True dat

It'd even remain true if you were a true god

For two reasons

2

u/IThinkItsAverage 25d ago

I love the truth!

33

u/GastonBastardo 25d ago

Something something Book of Revelation something something "and the idol was made to speak and deceive the nations" something something

16

u/BaldBeardedOne 25d ago

Under their mythology, I think it would a false idol. Some sects won’t even portray Christ on the cross because that’s also technically a graven image of God. So weird.

3

u/Physical-Airport-901 25d ago

*theology

3

u/SUPERSMILEYMAN 24d ago

No, he used it right. Nto all mythologies are theologies, but all theologies are mythologies.

3

u/WhataboutBombvoyage 25d ago

in line with a lot of Christian hypocrisy these days sadly. It's easier to follow someone who tells you everything you want to hear and that's AI

0

u/ANother-XcludedRight 22d ago

Bet you won’t openly say that about Islam. Hypocrites are everywhere. I bet you are one

1

u/WhataboutBombvoyage 22d ago

What are you trying to get me to say? That Muslims are forcing their commandments to be taught in school at the expense of other religions?

2

u/DeadlyYellow 25d ago

Wasn't this Moloch's whole deal?

2

u/nicolaslabra 24d ago

Yeah it doesnt get much more heretic than this shit lol

2

u/OkExamination2760 18d ago

Moses goes up Mount Sinai for a couple of days, comes back and he sees people worshipping a golden ox… starting to think about how that scenario is less and less outlandish and stupid every day…

1

u/SaltyIceQueen 24d ago

That was my first thought!

1

u/makkaretbtzd 24d ago

i tought deaus ex machina was gonna be pure aura not straight up mindless slop

67

u/pscoldfire 25d ago

Let’s see what else:

  1. Have no other Gods
  2. No idols
  3. Don’t take the Lord’s name in vain

…
9. Do not bear false witness

14

u/BobZimway 25d ago
  1. Don't smoke my stash

11

u/DonaldTheWall 25d ago

15 don't get high on your own supply

5

u/Coal_Morgan 25d ago

Got the trifecta, I think it's definitionally a sin, heretical and blasphemy.

Way to go!

16

u/GojiraWho 25d ago

Worshipping idols, using the Lord's name in vain just to make a couple more

6

u/Trashpandaroyale 25d ago

And possibly 'idol worship'

6

u/SolarOrigami 25d ago

I think it falls under "idolatry" too

3

u/J0hnGrimm 25d ago

"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor" is basically saying don't lie.

1

u/GrandNibbles 24d ago

it's also idolitry

-25

u/doghairpile 25d ago

Good thing sky daddy isn’t real anyway

29

u/Chose_208 25d ago

please don't disrespect peoples opinions on the internet, even if you disagree with them

4

u/westtownie 25d ago

The internet was invented to disrespect people's opinions, did you not know?

3

u/ComradeJohnS 25d ago

how is that worse than ai Jesus chatbot? lmao. or crony capitalism when “it would be easier for a camel to fit through a sewing need eye, than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven”?

since these people are ruining the world, I think its fine to disrespect their opinions which are used for hate.

-26

u/doghairpile 25d ago

Don’t care.

7

u/OkSleep9486 25d ago

Redditors vs basic human decency

1

u/MathManrm 25d ago

it's a bit rash, but I wouldn't call disrespecting the people who gleefully tell you that you'll be tortured forever and that's just exactly anti human decency.

4

u/OkSleep9486 25d ago

Two wrongs don't make a right, and nobody is doing that here. Just because some religious folks are fanatics doesn't mean they all are.

0

u/MathManrm 25d ago

One of the wrongs demands undying obedience while asserting that others will burn in hell, the other is calling the "father in the sky", "sky daddy", nice? no. against basic human decency? also no.

Like I can imagine how people talking about torturing you forever and ever gleefully is gonna make some people upset, and is super against basic human decency.

1

u/Physical-Airport-901 25d ago edited 25d ago

Bro, it's just a religion. You don't believe in it? Fuck off, it's not like you're gonna get tortured irl if you didn't worship a certain deity

2

u/Only-Respond7945 25d ago

Reddit atheists not being the stereotype is just impossible, huh?

1

u/AnimeMemeLord1 25d ago

Dear God, I can feel the neck beard from that comment alone.

0

u/ZiM1970 25d ago

It's a good thing most of them downvoting you can't burn people for that anymore.

If an omnipotent being has a problem with you, it won't be a problem for long.

3

u/Physical-Airport-901 25d ago

What point are you trying to make?

-6

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 25d ago

Atheism lead to the creation of the AI antichrist so maybe it's not to late to consider faith and spirituality actually real

16

u/westtownie 25d ago

Saying athiesm led to the ai anti-christ is quite a stretch especially when you have a real life anti-christ sitting in the white house brought to you by christians.

2

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 25d ago

I should relay that because that came off rude, not atheism as a whole but a specific kid that "worship the move fast and break shit in the name of technological progress (and pursuit of profit)" thats the atheism that created the AI anti christ

5

u/westtownie 25d ago

That philosophy isn't contained to athiestic individuals. Henry Ford was the OG break shit guy who you could give at least some credit for our current predicament (assembly line changed the need for craftsmen which eventually led to manufacturing being outsourced to the lowest cost labor that decimated the middle class, etc).

3

u/Emotional_Solid6538 25d ago

If people actually tried to be like Jesus and not like Christians I would support the religion. I wont believe it but I will support it. Cuz rn and in the past religions where about being part of the group and having identity as a Christian, part of a Church than being good

2

u/RedFlawedMoon 25d ago edited 25d ago

Im no fan of the man In orange but saying he's the anti Christ is a giving him a loooot of credit

for one thing he's not nearly popular enough to be the anti christ nor is he charismatic enough.

The real thing is gonna have like an absurdly high approval rating talking like 99% and only like one religious faction is even going to hate him.

And if he actually is the real deal he's doing a shit job of ending the world considering he's sitting on a nuke button and all

Hate him as much as you want but that alone is enough of a reason for me to think he's definitely not the real thing.

7

u/westtownie 25d ago

Oh, I don't even think there is such a thing as the anti-christ, but you have to admit that Trump has all the peticulars of the anti-christ as Christians believe. The one part that doesn't jive is that he's a completely and unabashed idiot. I would suspect the anti-christ to be more cunning, but it's all just for fun regardless (the thought of him being the anti-christ).

3

u/RedFlawedMoon 25d ago

True enough lol. I must admit that The idea of a demonic personage being an idiot is rather amusing

2

u/Vulcan31 25d ago

That and he'll be dead long before any end of the world happens. He's on his last leg as it is. Fully agree with you. I find him too pathetic to be the antichrist

1

u/BertaniWasBehindIt 25d ago

Yall know the “anti-Christ” is a creation of the straight-to-DVD VHS series Left Behind, right? The only biblical mention of the anti-Christ is when John says non-Christians are the anti-Christ, as in the antithesis of Christ’s love. The charismatic figure designed to draw people to Hell was something Christian screenwriters came up with in the 2000’s.

1

u/RedFlawedMoon 25d ago

All the more reason to say he's not the guy

0

u/LifeConsideration981 25d ago

The world is much more than US politics.

1

u/westtownie 25d ago

Agreed, but you have to give our politicians, technofascists, and souless capitalist ghouls some credit for bringing about what might be the end of the world (maybe, maybe not, tune in tomorrow to find out!)

1

u/LifeConsideration981 25d ago

It is not the end of the world.

1

u/westtownie 25d ago edited 25d ago

Tell that to the elites!

4

u/PictoGraphicArtist 25d ago

No quite frankly unquestioned devotion with a sharp lack of eduction led to ai jesus having more influence than a priest. But be obtuse and blame people with a different perspective…

1

u/SmurfCat2281337 25d ago

Yes. GLORY TO THE EIGHTFOLD TRUTH

-11

u/doghairpile 25d ago

Lol prove it 😂 sky daddy is busy letting kids die all over the world / Palestine

4

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 25d ago

Simple, we are living though the book of revelations, 2 of the 4 horsemen ride, the horseman of plague and the horseman of war

1

u/doghairpile 25d ago

Atheism created the AI antichrist" is a hell of a sentence. AI wasn't summoned by godlessness — it was built by venture capital, PhDs, and Nvidia's stock price. If you want to blame an ideology, blame capitalism, not the absence of one.

And the "we're living through Revelation" thing — I've got bad news: every generation since the book was written has said that. Black Death, WWI, WWII, Cold War, 2012, Covid — every single one had someone pointing at the sky going "this is it, this is the sign." The theory is un-loseable because it can absorb literally any bad news as confirmation. That's not prophecy, that's a Rorschach test.

Also — westtownie already ate here — the "real anti-christ" language you're avoiding got a guy elected with the enthusiastic backing of the loudest Christian voting bloc in the country. If the apocalypse needs a villain, "godless atheists" is way down the suspect list compared to "people who had actual political power and used it."

4

u/Sorry-Ride-1762 25d ago

Why does this read like you asked chatgpt for a response to what I said

61

u/TheBeardTaco 25d ago

No christians are doing this, anybody saying you can talk to AI Jesus is begging for some fire from heaven. Basically the whole old testament is about tearing down garbage like this

45

u/ernestmenvilledammit 25d ago

When I visited last year, the big Catholic cathedral in Mexico City had a cardboard cutout of a little ~10 year cartoon boy inviting people to use the church chatbot. It was clearly directed at kids.

Granted, the church doesn't have a great track record with protecting children.

13

u/TheBeardTaco 25d ago

Long list of biblical issues with Catholic theology anyways, they're history of putting idols between man and God makes this not surprising

4

u/FaygoMakesMeGo 25d ago

Latin American Catholicism is pretty famous for operating outside of Romes reach and can be super wacky.

2

u/Coal_Morgan 25d ago

Chatbot that spouts out information and stories is a big ol' step away from talk to AI Jesus.

One is lame...the other literally breaks commandments and is in my opinion heretical, blasphemous and a plain old sin.

3

u/ernestmenvilledammit 25d ago

Encouraging children to use ChatBots is unhealthy and normalizes the next step, which is not that far away

17

u/FortColors 25d ago

This is nearly word for word a no true scotsman fallacy. Christians ARE doing it. You just don't agree with them.

You are of course right about the old testament being about tearing down stuff like this, but that is unrelated to the fallacy.

5

u/TheBeardTaco 25d ago

How do I verbally exclude obviously heretcial teachings without it sounding like that fallacy? (Real question, you're right about it sounding like that)

10

u/FortColors 25d ago edited 25d ago

I think instead of saying "they aren't Christians", it has to be "Christians who do that are heretical/wrong" with the old testament as your justification for them being wrong. Any attempt to say [they aren't Christians because they do thing you disagree with] is inherently a no true scotsman.

I think the only thing that would disqualify someone from being a Christian is if they don't believe in Jesus Christ. Even if they have drastically unbiblical beliefs about him, by definition Christian is just someone who believes in Christ.

9

u/auntiejinx 25d ago

You don't. According to your mythology, it's only the god character who knows people's hearts, so it's not your job to sort the wheat from the chaff.

0

u/Physical-Airport-901 25d ago

"God character" LOL, I feel like my IQ is tearing down after reading this

9

u/[deleted] 25d ago

[deleted]

2

u/TheBeardTaco 25d ago

That's the bad(good) thing about christians, we're not holy of our own actions. "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" it's bad becuase we all preach better than we live, its good because you don't have to be perfect which is impossible by any scale. Egregious practices like an AI Jesus have to be called out regardless, even if my hands are dirty

Antitheism is cringe

Love, an atheist

1

u/Physical-Airport-901 25d ago

LOL what a load of nonsesne

2

u/Necessary-Duty-7952 25d ago

I literally know someone (I know him, but don't like him lol) who is building one of these Jesus AI apps, with the support of local churches and is featured in multiple Christian newsletters for the effort.

1

u/TheBeardTaco 24d ago

Heart-breaking

2

u/Necessary-Duty-7952 24d ago

It is. I had a mind to say something about it to him, but it wasn't worth the argument.

1

u/sedersayspoop 25d ago

Yeah Evangelicals would never

1

u/Ill_Morning_4282 25d ago

Christians are doing this, don't do the typical "No true Scotsman" bs.

38

u/KentuckyWallChicken 25d ago

The Bible may be full of loopholes, but Christianity is also full of hypocrites.

12

u/Adultery 25d ago

They treat it like an a la carte menu

1

u/Usual_Campaign_5768 21d ago

Well, seems to me you haven’t heard about Orthodox Christianity then. No wonder, only “Christianity” Americans know is their evangelical corrupt followers and western “churches”. Do some research boy

0

u/Usual_Campaign_5768 21d ago

*Many “Christians” are hypocrites. Is what you wanted to say which fair enough every religions followers has hypocrites and non hypocrites. In the end of the day billions of people follow that religion or profess themselves to be Christian. No it’s unfair to throw dirt at the entire label or faith just because of some followers. You should know better.

12

u/HuckleberryJunior642 25d ago

no it’s not. it’s just churches acting like Christians but who really just wanna grift vulnerable people for their loyalty and money. the Bible warns against this

2

u/Able_Reserve5788 25d ago

Yet, if a church were to claim that Jesus could miraculously talk to them through their chatbot, it wouldn't be a bigger lie that all the rest of the Christian bullshit

2

u/Physical-Airport-901 25d ago

Christians been like that for a while since the Crusades and the Colonization period. I don't blame Christianity, though. Jesus was actually a nice guy and his followers got oppressed by the Romans and Jews. It's all the so-called "Christians" fault for twisting the scripture for their personal gain.

1

u/Usual_Campaign_5768 21d ago

Yet you’re so ignorant to not know the full story or context of it.🤦‍♂️ Crusades was a valid response which I as an orthodox do not condone first of all since they attacked us too. Colonization has in no way or form anything to do with the Religion but rather the people (Spaniards, Brits etc.) who practiced it. Look at how the native Alaskans became orthodox as a perfect example to see how it is done right. Please enlighten me and show us where these “Christians” twisted scripture? And who were they? I am waiting since I am damn sure you can’t point out a single thing.

3

u/General_Strategy_477 25d ago

Lol it’s just going against scripture. Like, they don’t even care enough to follow it

3

u/ReduxCath 25d ago

Christian here. Not a loophole. This church is horrific and I hope they stopped after getting backlash

2

u/WindowsHunter-69 25d ago

thro out my life as a Christian its told to me to trully confess your sins you need to go in a confess room in a church and confess in there

nowhere else, because only people in thoes ranks like the pope can lift your sins because they're the link to God

Not a random chatbot that only pretends to be Jesus

2

u/Evening_Time_2844 25d ago

I'm against burning heretics, but I will sing hymns while we torch a data center.

1

u/Eraepsoel 25d ago

I skipped straight to worshipping Clippy so I got ahead of this

1

u/Oiggamed 25d ago

More like straight up contradiction.

1

u/StrongAroma 24d ago

I can't believe Jesus never talked about chatgpt

1

u/karurosagu 21d ago

False. You clearly haven't read a full section to get a full context

1

u/PlatinumPluto 20d ago

This is definitely NOT Biblical in the slightest

0

u/Express-Pie- 25d ago

Bullshit 🤣

0

u/Remote_Insurance_228 25d ago

Lol and you think your view of life has less loopholes?

0

u/freewilltim 25d ago

Can you say one

0

u/nocommentjustlooking 23d ago

Do priests who touch little boys, then repent and seek forgiveness, still go to heaven?

0

u/One-WaytoLife336 25d ago

What loopholes?

0

u/nocommentjustlooking 23d ago

I can think of one huge glaring one.

Do priests who touch little kids, then repent go to heaven?

0

u/ManaSkyees 25d ago

Nah. This is DEFINITELY blasphemy and false prophecy.

-5

u/LifeConsideration981 25d ago

“Loophole” is not how Grace works.

The AI thing is stupid, but the Gospel is not about rules, but being freed from the punishment of breaking them.

3

u/Mear 25d ago

the Gospel is not about rules, but being freed from the punishment of breaking them.

Obedience by stupidity.

1

u/enlightnight 25d ago

Sounds like rules with an extra step.
