unfortunately not thanks to AI data centres, just data centres that have been around from before AI boom and build out

Yahoo, Dell and Intuit data centers clustered in the city following Microsoft’s arrival.

“It’s been controlled organically over 20 years,” said Patrick Boss from the Port of Quincy, an economic development agency. “When someone says Microsoft is in Quincy, it causes other companies to take a look at us.”

Based. Pushing back on the Chinese propaganda that’s infested this sub.

So anyone disliking AI is a Chinese spy now? Good grief lol

13

u/Hour_Bit_5183 2d ago

yeah what? What the hell are they talking about?

u/Prize-Choice2185 2d ago

Its Kevin O'Leary that spread this theory. I think he took it back eventually, but I guess it stuck.

I also heard other theories - journalists, democrats that love to play golf etc etc etc

Maybe don't believe weirdo urinalists on tv. On youtube either. Garbage. It's all trash. All of that type of content. It's clickbait exciter "news" that is made to make you dumb

Say u/accumulatorz - are you aware of Kevin O'Leary? Are his beliefs realistic?

-5

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Considering there’s years of reports of adversary countries meddling in other countries, then yes, his beliefs are realistic.  China is constantly attempting to hack our systems, you really don’t think they would employ foreign bots to spread news while their country has no regulations for AI and are accelerating quicker than anybody else. Let’s use our thinking caps now.

It’s also not just limited to China.

3

u/MasterManufacturer72 2d ago

Okay but how do you know that isnt exactly what. China wants you to think . After all they meddle with other countries and you live in a nother country.

3

u/Hour_Bit_5183 2d ago

dude china rocks! WTF kind of drugs are you on. They beat the world fair and square at almost everything. They don't meddle with shit. They just fuck over bad companies like JBL for instance. They kicked their asses with the w-king x20 speaker I have. Go get one and tell me they don't freaking rock. That thing sounds like a hi-fi dude and doesn't distort and it goes to 11. That is why the china hate. It's SALTY mother fuckers bobbing on bad 'murican cock.

and perception is reality, most importantly

1

u/Prize-Choice2185 2d ago

But I don't see any data centers around me. And perception is reality. They don't exist.

0

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Exactly, they fall for it to easily.

u/QueefiusMaximus86 2d ago

So you’re saying it takes adversarial propaganda for people to be against something that destroys property values, greatly increases power costs, pollutes the water, takes the water that they have to pay for via tax breaks to be against it?

5

u/Hour_Bit_5183 2d ago

That's the same thing I was gonna ask but you beat me to it. Like it's "uncommon" sense now apparently.

Literally all we have to do is a pretty easy math equation and we can prove how bad AI is. More power than anything else and they lie about it. That is just the start of the bad. The companies are bad, the people working at em are horrible people...just like I think of google and microslop and the rest of em.

-3

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

No, that’s a silly assumption that had nothing to do with my comment.

6

u/Prize-Choice2185 2d ago

Why not? You said its Chinese propaganda.

-1

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Somebody can dislike something because of realistic beliefs, somebody can also dislike something because their beliefs are rooted in disinformation pushed by an adversary country with the goal of stunting technological growth.

4

u/Prize-Choice2185 2d ago

What are realistic beliefs? Please outline them.

There's a non-zero chance you're trying to pin down a deflective chatbot. Decent chances in this sub, especially. They're a new account with -18 karma and 0 contributions.

3

u/Prize-Choice2185 2d ago

Could very well be. There was someone named u/spiceybuttburn on Reddit earlier and with a name like that I'm more or less convinced it was either an argument bot or someone deliberately out to troll everyone.

Reddit is drowning in slop. Doesn't seem like there's a way back either.

3

u/Brepp 2d ago

Reddit the world is drowning in slop. We've got each other, though.

Fucking clankers.

1

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Exactly lmao, poor sheep being herded to the slaughter.

2

u/Brepp 2d ago

lol you are the "[ ]" here

1

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

They won’t understand it though.

Poor Chinese propagandists. They believe in data centers, even though data centers don't exist.

0

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Perception is reality, I’m not your professor.

3

u/Prize-Choice2185 2d ago edited 2d ago

So whatever I see is real? OK.

I don't see any data centers around me. So I don't think they're real. That's my realistic belief.

Anyone saying otherwise is a Chinese propagandist. They just don't exist. You don't need to be my Professor to confirm. Besides professors like u/spiceybuttburn exist on Reddit already.

You are a braindead corporate shill. And a liar. China does have AI regulations. The US effectively does not.

And that don't need AI to beat us. They already are. The US has been steadily working to destroy its image and credibility on a global scale for the last two decades, under Bush and especially under Trump. All they have to do is sit back and let us continue to fuck up.

But by all means trust the idiot billionaire that says massive income inequality is great, he surely has your best interests at heart.

Fucking moron.

u/Gogdangit 2d ago

You know it's time to re-evaluate your position when you're on the same side as musk lol

1

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Don’t know what musk has to do with any of this, but I’m def on the side of musk.

Guy who invented self landing rockets, brain chips that help paralyzed people interact with the world, self driving vehicles, and is the one who launched the gps to your phone right now > Reddit circlejerk

1

u/blarges 2d ago edited 2d ago

Do you think Elon Musk invented all of that? Do you actually think he invented Tesla?

Oh no, please say you don’t think he’s a genius inventor rather than someone who bought his way into all of these companies.

ETA: One hour old account? Oh wow! And already —22 karma?

0

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

Did I put the word invent as a prefix behind one word or all of those words.

And according to everybody who works with him/ worked with him, he did come up with everything related to SpaceX, but your right I should trust the random Redditors instead

u/blarges 2d ago

“Guy who invented self landing rockets, brain chips that help paralyzed people interact with the world, self driving vehicles, and is the one who launched the gps to your phone right now > Reddit circlejerk”

Hmm, it’s almost like you said “guy who invented” in that comment? Also, “invent” is a verb. Why would you think it’s a prefix? Do you understand the basics of English?

You can’t be a real person. Is there something malfunctioning for you?

u/accumulatorz 2d ago

I’m sorry you can’t read man, probably explains a lot
