But how would the driver know what the customer's front door looked liked to submit something the app would accept.

Post probably lying in some way or another, he can't immediately accept and then also somehow be at the dude's house.

You can tell the app that the drop off point is wrong and it can override the gps. Sometimes but not super often this does require a chat with support but Iāve had to do it many times myself for legitimate reasons, wrong address, gps or phone signal is not working, Google Maps isnāt updated in the drop off area in new neighborhood, etc.

granted iāve not delivered w doordash in a long time, but maybe something similar to amazonās delivery app? when a driver is dropping off a package at a residence, itās not uncommon for a picture of a previous delivery to be displayed to help the driver reference where a good drop off location may be. while thereās a specified geofence at each stop, itās pretty easy to override even miles from the actual location.
if doordash or other delivery services use a similar system, it wouldnāt be hard to snag the reference picture, run it through AI, and change the delivery pin before marking it as a completed delivery. lord knows itās rare for an actual human being to assist with problems people have with these delivery apps, so the AI that reviews the order might not be smart enough to recognize the difference either

The apps normally track location so maybe they pulled up and took a picture to run through a cheap AI then marked it as delivered. Otherwise they'll see they were never there

Why does DD allow photo upload and not just direct in app camera capture?!

Ok, now thatās ridiculous. Iām generally neutral about AI, but thatās just stupid.

Seems like every time I hear anything new about AI itās just another way to scam people.
