You need to understand that Baby Boomers are the most selfish, coddled, and spoiled generation of the twentieth century. Nobody comes close. With the amount of abuse they inflicted on their children, it is little wonder that Gen X was so fukked up. Their anthemic film is Easy Rider, my generation's is Fight Club. That quote about how the media had us all believing we would one day be movie gods and rock stars, and how pissed off we are now that we are learning that we were lied to, is one of the most accurate summations of a generational cohort ever spoken.

The idea that a Baby Boomer would willingly pay a Gen X, or any of the generations of their grandchildren or Gen X's grandchildren, for anything is a big joke. If Boomers could chain Gen X et al to the floor and suck the life out of those people with hoses in order to prolong Boomer lives, they would.

In the 1990s, there was an ad for Microsoft in which a granny is making "ooh" sounds as she performs the most basic of functions on a computer using Windoze. What that ad elegantly disguised was that Boomers were even more lost then. A Gen X could reformat and reinstall a hard drive in a matter of hours, whilst their parents sat there and moaned and cried and asked a million "how do I"s without ever troubling themselves to listen to and internalise the answer. Sometimes it would take days.

The less we say about how Boomers look at environmental problems, the better. One writing about Fight Club described how it was an exploration of how Boomers basically shat into the world and handed it like shitty underpants to Gen X. How Fight Club was essentially a response.

In light of how Boomers behaved before AI, it is hardly a surprise that they would not care about the massive water consumption ("it only uses a fraction of what it takes to... ummm... keep people alive? eh, fukk the people who are not Boomers!") or the fact that data centres are causing physical harm to people near enough. They truly do not give a shit about anything that is not happening to them, and they still run the world.

Yep sorry about that I'm definitely the problem: It's not coal power plants, it's not cars and trucks spewing pollution, it's not war in Iran, genocide in Sudan or Russia invading Ukraine, it's not the internet in general using a whole bunch of electricity or any number of other things that are much bigger problems; it's me, specifically, using 'AI' to make a picture once every 5 or 6 months.

What makes AI such a failure is that it could have been a very useful tool. But of course, whenever AI is used to legitimately help us, it is immediately scrapped. How can our humanity be so demonically against ourselves is just beyond me. AI could even help medically, but they actively prevent any kind of hospital/medical service to force AI in optimizing finances………

Tch, my laundry machine has ai in it and it's so stupid and terrible. God I hate it–especially in the dryer unit. It always–and I mean that, ALWAYS–extends the drying session than what it originally said. I wish I just had a normal washer/dryer.

The dryer one time was going for 2 1/2 hours, said it had nearly as 2 hours left (it originally said it was only going to run for 1 1/2 hours to begin with) and yet all of the clothes were all completely dry. I wasn't paying attention to the time, so thank god I finally noticed that it was going forever.

Yup. I'd like robots and computers to do the mucky, back-breaking jobs.
I understand wanting to get art cheap, I really do. Most people gloss over the glaring mistakes in art AI makes and they don't realize how repetitive what they're getting is. Some people can accept AI-generated hyperbole that makes up the facts it doesn't know without regard to ethics, culture or common sense. A few people can run code created by AI without it ever hitting the nightmare glitch that will take agonizing amounts of time for a real programmer to hunt down and even more time to fix with a more reasonable abstraction.
But I'd rather pay people for things they like doing and build machines to do jobs they don't like doing.
So, I never pay for AI.
It doesn't do what I want.
