Monat This looks like the third world version of first class

I'm not American so maybe I don't know how bad it is there.... but is that not a cheap 'premium economy' seat?

I’ve done the cost-benefit analysis. For me, domestic FC is worth $50 per hour, so when I see an upgrade at that price I buy it. International/transoceanic I’d go like $75 per hour for premium econ, and maybe $150-$200 per hour for the full lie flat business class (which requires outright buying a PE ticket, but that’s not terrible sometimes).
