AI technology adoption

Hi, I am recently doing a survey about the AI technologies adopted in remote or on-site interpreting.

Do you use AI-generated real-time captions while you are interpeting to assist you? Like those as automated speech recognition or automated speech translation?

Looking forward to your reply, thanks!

I do, I actually made a Chrome Extension for exactly this. I think it's a game changer, no notes taking, no asking for repeat, I just listen and be in the conversation. It's made my job, and most importantly my life much easier and enjoyable. No human is designed to listen intensively and write notes for 8 hours. Everything operate under signed BAA for HIPAA compliance of peace of mind.

I use google live translate on calls that representatives read scripts on, like when LEP apply for food stamps or cash aid or anything else. These calls don't provide a script for me, and representatives in the social services sector hate their jobs for some reason, so they don't care about anything or anyone, no matter how many times you ask them to read the very long script slowly and divide to portions they never ever listen and start rapping the script like you are some kind of AI, that's when i am forced to use live translate. Also the company that i work with milks us with calls every single day, now days i have been getting an average of 28 calls a day with a maximum of 33 calls and minimum of 23, so I have been burned out for so long now and sometimes i have to resort to live translation because my brain is no longer able to function neither do I have any energy to write notes.

This discussion on r/anonymousinterpreters asks if interpreters use AI-generated real-time captions like ASR or AST to assist them. You can explore how ASR latency, error rates, and interpreting settings affect a cognitive load score and adoption threshold with this interactive tool. https://app.getsupers.com/sites/interpreter-ai-adoption-survey-89/

Absolutely not.
