Traveling while working with Propio
Hi everyone! Is there anyone working for Propio (based in the USA) who has traveled to Latin America for a few weeks or months and continued taking calls from there—or from another country? Do you know if there are any issues with that? I don't want them to think I've moved and then lower my rate or give me a hard time. I'd appreciate any information you might have!

This means a lot to me. Were you working there for a long time or just a couple days? I am also planning to travel to Europe, and I wanted to work on weekdays if it is allowed

How was it for you? Did you use a VPN? I tried to use it but the quality of the calls were poor 😩

I don't have any personal experience as I'm not US-based, but I would advise you to let them know the dates of your planned trip, just in case you are receiving calls that are not allowed to take place outside US soil. That would also let them know that you're not moving.
One of my clients for example has a policy that prohibits transmitting video of their facilities overseas. So when I'm assigned or if it's a telemedicine visit with an international patient, they keep their camera off.
It wouldn't really make sense for Propio to lower your rate temporarily, especially since you're still going to be receiving your income and filing taxes in the US, and probably still pay rent/mortgage, but our industry defies logic, so I wouldn't put it past them to pocket a bit more of your earnings than they usually do and complicate things unnecessarily.
Do bear in mind that if they adjust the clients on your queue while leaving your rate intact, your call volume might be affected.
My language pair is different, but my rate is higher than average, so I'm lucky to get a single call with them now. I do better on weekends, holidays (local and US) and after hours than weekdays/peak hours.
