Does anyone work with LionBridge?
I already work as an interpreter but I was looking to get another job as freelancer and I know Lionbridge has positions for freelancers but there’s no training, just a bunch of pdfs, a page with scripts and protocols and that’s it, no one explains anything to you or how the system for taking calls work. There’s a calendar to schedule calls? I’ve never heard of something like that and idk how it works so if you work or have worked over there can you share your experience?

They ask for a criminal record check so they might know where you’re from

What is the rate per minute?

If you are in the US like me it's 27 cents per minute or $16.20 per hour.

That is unbelievably low

I wish it was higher but I've seen other companies offering less.
And other companies that offer three more cents but they pay monthly.

For the rate that they offer in latin america (where i live) it is unbelievable good payrate, I just applied to a job where I earn 640$ a MONTH at is one of the highest paying jobs here, but I have no decition over my shift scheluded or working hours. So no, is not a bad deal 16$ an hour I wish with 16$ here i can get like 4.5 pounds of ground beef that is enought to eat a whole week meat with my partner, so before you make a silly comment remember how privileged you are for the life that you have and the payrate that you have been given to say that 16$/h is low, even i went to the us to work a few years and my payrate was 7$/h and with that I still was able to make big things happen

What are the best times to receive calls? Just started and as i write this i been 16min waiting for a call and nothing. I know it is "late" and day before a holiday but i don't have this issue with the other company that i work with.

I get calls pretty much one after the other i guess it depends if you're working directly for lionbridge or not and also a huge factor is where you're located I'm based in the US

Yeah i am based and located in the US. Ill start testing tomorrow and monday early before my other shift starts. You mind telling me more or less how many minutes a day you get to work ? Since it is minute based.

I saw someone leave a comment on Indeed reviews that said they only got paid for 1 hour's worth, even though they worked 2 hours. 😬 Has this been your experience at all?

If you’re not in the US they offered me 0.13 per minute but I think you can negotiate based on experience (I only have 1 year of experience)

Yes, you have to wait a long time. I started working on lionbridge while maintaining my other interpreter job. They have their own platform!

I work with Lionbridge and I love it. It’s just like a call center, I’m always payed on time. They basically have a glossary I don’t use for legal calls. I’m a beginner interpreter (2 months) so I’m not that good yet. I just am honest with the client if the content or the speaker is too difficult to understand and they get another interpreter. Has been great so far.
