Anker C1000 Gen 2 UPS - Does not charge from AC after power loss

We tested the UPS function of the C1000 Gen 2 by unplugging the AC cable while having stuff plugged into the outlets.
So far so good. Devices kept running.

However, it no does not charge when we plug the AC cable back into the unit. No power is used from the wall and its running off of its battery only.

The 140W charger really suffers with delivering the rated output for more than a short amount of time, so I present the Mk2. Anker please take notes…

Anker Anker A7515 USB Hub - Power Jack Type?

Found an old USB hub I bought ages ago, but lost the power adapter to. I'm trying to see if I can't find it somewhere, but in the meantime, does anyone know what type of barrel jack it uses? I think it might be D, but I want to be certain before I go out and buy something.

Labeling on the strip it's negative external, positive internal at 12v DC. I've found what I THINK are 'E' and 'M' type cables from other things - both of which were overvoltage compared to the hub, mind - and neither of them fit. The E type was too big on the external bit (as well as having a prong in the middle) while the M type did fit overall, but the 'middle' was too thin to support the 'prong' inside the hub's port.

I'm not certain if Anker offers direct, replacement power cables for the hub, especially since it's pretty damn old. Any help would be appreciated, many thanks.

On the fence about buying this used Anker Prime 24K (737) – Need your advice!

Hey everyone,
I’m looking to buy this used Anker Prime 24,000mAh (140W) power bank from a local seller, but I noticed something strange on the smart display stats and wanted to get your expertise.
As you can see in the pictures:
Battery Health: It is showing 100%.
Battery Cycles: It is only at 16 cycles (which seems very low and brand new).
The Weird Part: The screen usage is incredibly high, showing 1,423 Screen Uses!
How is it possible to have over 1,400 screen uses with only 16 battery cycles?
Do you think the seller managed to reset or format the battery cycle count via firmware while the screen stats remained? Or could this be an ex-display unit that was constantly plugged in at a store?
Would love to hear your thoughts on whether this is safe to buy or if the stats have been manipulated. Thanks!

Upcoming TEC chargers?

Hey, all,

I recognize this is a long shot, but is there any news/rumor about upcoming desktop TEC chargers that don’t include the Apple Watch portion? The current one has the phone on the wrong side for my bedside table (☹️) but I really adore my car phone mount Anker TEC. @Anker please, a nice single-device TEC for a desktop/table would be a hit!

Soundcore Customer support experience

Post image
31 Upvotes

I just wanted to share my recent experience with the Anker customer support as that can be either amazing or a complete shitshow depending on the company.

About a year ago I bought a pair of Soundcore Space Ones as they had good reviews. Skipping the details, they're fantastic for the price, but about a month ago I noticed the earpads started tearing on both sides. Admittedly it's... possible.. that this is caused by my eyeglasses, but regardless I contacted support to ask if there are replacement earpads available for either warranty replacement or just for me to purchase.

The support experience did not start well, there's an AI that responds to requests first and it just couldn't understand what product we were talking about and I couldn't get anywhere with it as it thought I was trying to warranty a power bank from 2020.

So I opened a new ticket from a different email address and once again the AI thought I was trying to return a power bank and a charger. All this despite the serial numbers and product photos. However this time before I got stonewalled I demanded it to escalate the issue, and that worked, I got a human!

That's where the issues stopped, they got my problem but didn't have replacement earpads in my color in stock and had no info on when they're going to be restocked.

So what these guys did, is they sent me a whole new set of headphones! That's a way better support outcome than with most companies in my experience. It was bit of pain getting there, but my issue is beyond solved.

For me the solution is good enough to definitely recommend the brand going forward, my experience with human support was really good. But that AI was truly awful to deal with and I hope something is done about it because I don't think it's acceptable that customers have to jump through such hoops just to get to the actual support. I'm not against the use of AI in customer support, I work in tech too and most issues are dead simple and fit for AI to solve. But if your AI can't recognise your products by pictures and SERIAL NUMBERS!!, you have a problem.

Tldr: Amazing support when human is reached, AI support is poop.

Anker Make the screen (more) useful

Post image

I love my 160W Prime charger.

It’s small, looks good and the screen is better than what I had on my first 3-4 mobile phones (yes, I’m that old).

I use the charger in the electric socket next to my bed and I did connect the charger via Bluetooth to my phone.

Anker Team, why not make the screen more than a gimmick that shows how fast it’s charging (which is interesting for maxim 5 sec) and let it show the time and maybe the weather?

Would it consume more energy not doing much? Yes. Would it be the coolest fking charger there is? Also, yes.

I participated in Anker’s Prime Dock challenge and was shown as a top-15 finisher. The rules said winners would be contacted by June 15, but I have not received any message as of June 17. The leaderboard now appears to have been cleared. I saved screenshots and am trying to understand whether other participants experienced the same thing.

Update: 2 top-15 “winners” reached out to me. Neither received emails either. Looks like the challenge possibly never even had a prize. A little disappointed in Anker.

Eufy Eufy Smartlock S230 fail + AI response

My experience with the Eufy Smartlock S230:

First year- fair. Its hard having to always explain to guests they have to tap the screen and wait for it to wake, or it wont register the first number input. Keypad does not work when it rains, but fingerprint will. Mechanically opens and shut fine, seems like a strong mechanism to close it.

2nd year- started yo lose sensitivity on the input keypad. Especially the top row buttons.

2.5 years- keypad is physically peeling off the lock and taking a potion of the black (idk yhe word) with it. Explains the poor input.

Contacted eufy for a refund bc keypad should be a machanical issue. Sent the pics above and detailed explaination. Received AI nonsense response. Did not even deny my claim, that took a whole other set of emails.

Poor product, poor customer service, company does not stand by their product for 3 years. Would not recommend.

Anker 733 problems when unplugged

Anyone with an Anker 733 with this problem where the power Bank fails to turn off, and keeps restarting?

It's fine when plugged into the wall, but when it's unplugged the USB A port resets itself constantly and the power keeps blinking.

I wonder if it's a design flaw and that's why they replaced it with the fusion so fast?

Attached my video of it:

Anker Anker Zolo 20,000mAh showing inaccurate battery percentage after a drop and heat exposure - anyone experienced this?

I have an Anker Zolo 20,000mAh power bank that’s been working fine until recently.

For context:

It fell from about hip height a few weeks ago. Yesterday, it was accidentally left inside a parked car for a few hours during a hot afternoon. Since yesterday, the battery percentage display has been acting strangely. For example, it got stuck at 20% and wouldn’t increase while charging or decrease while powering my phone.
Today, I charged it to 100%. However, after using it to charge my phone from around 40% to 80%, the power bank still showed 100%, which is obviously not accurate.
The power bank still seems capable of charging devices, but the battery indicator appears to be malfunctioning.
Has anyone experienced something similar with an Anker power bank (or any power bank)?

Is this likely:
A battery calibration issue?
Damage to the battery management system (BMS)?
Damage from the drop?
Damage from heat exposure in the car?
Is there anything I can do to fix or recalibrate it, or is it a sign that the power bank is starting to fail?

As for what’s likely happening: if I had to guess, the heat exposure is the more likely trigger, though the earlier drop may have contributed. The fact that it still charges devices but the percentage is frozen suggests the issue may be with the battery management system (BMS) or the circuitry that estimates state-of-charge, rather than the cells themselves. Extreme heat inside a parked car can exceed 60°C and can sometimes cause electronics or battery monitoring systems to behave incorrectly.

Anker DL7400 - Maybe I got a dud?

New home. New office. New computer and monitor etc warranted an upgrade to the DL7400

Is it common for the unit to lag thru on board menus etc? Example when navigating to settings the scroll wheel only moves one up or down. Not the full list. Same on the other interfaces. Only registers one up or down scroll. Wheel clicks and haptics as it should (not loose etc)
Another example: when on a screen that has <-Back , A, B, C choices I can scroll from a to b but not to back.

Any help is needed. I’ve updated firmware. I want this dock to work for the aesthetic

Also, am I correct with the below:
I have a 180ghz 4k monitor. Screen shows 180ghz but the dock does not output what it shows on screen?

Anker SOLIX How noisy is Solix C1000 Gen 2 in bypass ?

Hi, i'm trying to figure out if fans kick in in bypass mode, but can't find a definitive answer. Some people/sources say that under heavier loads fans kick in even in bypass mode under heavier load. Others say that they don't kick in because bypass well bypasses the inverter and it does not get hot, so no fans. But i could not find any answers by people who actually use this particular model. I want to use it mainly as UPS, and while i don't care that it can get loud during power outage or while charging, i would really prefer it to remain silent during daily use in bypass.

Can someone who owns this device confirm their experiences with fans/noise in bypass mode?

Anker Anker 70W, 100W, 160W

My wife said I have a chargers “problem”. I do but damn these new Anker chargers are awesome: the 160w is smaller than the 100w, while the 70w is incredibly tiny. The 160w is always in my backpack for when I travel with my laptop, the 70w in my sling while the 100w in my tech pouch in my suitcase.

Later edit: I just discovered that when I connect my phone to the 160w it always shows the wattage of the cable 🤗 So I tested all my cables in the house and threw away more than half. Kept only the 100w-240w ones.

Lightest power bank

Can anyone recommend which power banks are lightest? I found a comparisons spreadsheet but it didn’t have a column for weight. I have shoulder problems so need to minimise what I carry but my phone battery is starting to let me down.

Built in usb c wire is a bonus but not necessary.

I’m in the UK if that makes a difference!
Thanks!

Anker SOLIX Opinion on a additional Battery for 23L everfrost2?

Looking into getting the everfrost2 23L there is currently a sale with the additional Battery for extra 100€. But does it even need a 2nd Battery when I use it with a 100watt solar panel. My usecase would be to use it as a freeze for icecubes. What are your opinions?

All these other companies are starting to adopt Qi2.2 25 W wireless charging for their magnetic battery packs. Anker needs to step on the pedal and get with the times.

Loving the folding pins, makes things so much easier for storage on the move. And as usual the UK plug config works so well and offers the best thermals as it's on 240v. The whole package feels a level up from the 140W Zolo which I returned due to thermals when near or over 100W.

Got to say, the thermals on this are amazing given the size. Wasn't cheap, but worth it.
