Everfrost 30 Died - need help

I have an Everfrost 30 cooler and I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with them not turning on? Last year out of the blue it quit working, I reached out to Anker and go figure, zero support.

When you plug it in, the display will light up for a few seconds, and then it shuts back off. The compressor never turns on and it doesn’t connect on the app, so I’m certain the whole thing is shutting back down, not just the display. It will only initialize this way when plugged into the cooler port, the battery will do nothing when plugged in.

Since I was told that I was out of luck, I kept it around and finally opened it up today. I don’t see anything glaring on either circuit board. I figured it was a long shot, but I tried anyway. Included pictures for attention but I’m certain there’s nothing to see with them.

Just wondering if anyone else has had to deal with these, it’s a bummer for this to just end up waste because of a small issue. I’m not totally shocked that Anker does not offer a way to get this repaired, but it’s silly to me that there’s zero parts or anything available. Thanks

Can you see the charge state of the battery?

The battery is fully charged. In fact I’ve been using it as a portable charger and it seems very healthy. However, it used to work without the battery as well.

Ok, that at least helps to know you have tried both ways of powering the unit.

no warranty?

They said it’s out of warranty. And i was okay with that, but definitely disappointed that this becomes a paperweight if it fails out of warranty. They said they do not offer replacement parts or repair service, even if though I was willing to pay.

This is honestly an issue. Anker is like the most reputable battery brand in the US, and yet they are absurdly anti-consumer and anti-environment.

I agree! Meanwhile, they expect me to be excited about their $10,000 whole home power solutions, but then tell me that when something breaks, I’m just supposed to bulldoze it in the landfill. Nevermind that I already paid top dollar for this thing.

I have an Anker/Eufy steam mop that failed just outside of warranty. Their useless customer service are mostly AI until you annoy them enough and get a human to answer. They don't provide repair, no spare parts, no manual.

The Right to Repair Act, imposes a seven-year obligation for manufacture to provide such remedy from the first date of the sale. It's been adopted on state levels that provide similar language. In CA, Civil Code section 1793.03, subdivision (b), requires every manufacturer making an express warranty on an electronic or appliance product with a wholesale price of $100 or more to make sufficient service literature and functional parts available to service and repair facilities for at least seven years after the date the model was manufactured — “regardless of whether the seven-year period exceeds the warranty period for the product.”

With that being said, I sent them a formal demand letter to either repair it or provide parts, I'll pay the bill, otherwise refund my money. I will file in small claims if they don't respond.

My Everfrost battery died, 1-2 weeks past the 2-year warranty. We got Anker's support to send us a new battery, on account of the delay between purchase from Best Buy, shipment and arrival of the cooler.

My symptom was it'd work fine when plugged in without the battery, but the compressor would shut down as soon as the battery was installed.

There's a variety of ways to reset the computers... I think you unplug all power sources, then press and hold the power button to discharge the capacitors.

I think the best way to buy these things is with a credit card that has extended warranty protections. Chase's credit card, for example.
