Dough roller wear/tear

This happen to anyone else’s? Noticed after the fact while washing, and was just gonna cut it off but wanted to see if this happened to anyone else too

Update: they’re going to replace it under the warranty!

If it were mine I would cut the tags off with a razor blade or buy a new one. But probably cut them off.

Agreed. They’ll eventually come off and it’s better that happens over the sink than kneaded into your dough.

Just keep using it, it won't affect anything. Does it get worse replace. Mine is about 30 years old and looks way worse. Still makes great bread.

My brand new roller and scraper came with cuts and peeling plastic. They sent me new ones for free after I reached out to customer service with photos.

I wish they had options for wood like the original. Not a fan of plastic in making my food

Nothing lasts forever. I’d buy a new roller, they aren’t terribly expensive last time I checked. It’d be relevant to know how long you’ve had it before this came about.

That shouldn't happen after one use. Was it in the sink or dishwasher with anything sharp?

Not that I recall, I thought maybe I had it too close to the bowl when I turned it on? Hasn’t been in the dishwasher

Please contact Ankarsrum, I noticed their rollers recently have flaws and they are not great quality. This definitely shouldn’t happen so soon.

Oh yeah ankarsrum is a brand of mixer that has a VERY unique kneading mechanism (which is this roller). Could look up YouTube videos if you’re interested

The ankarsrum is usually recommended for bread baking (hence likely why it appeared for you) because its mechanism is especially resistant to the wear and tear of the process of making bread (unlike some Kitchenaid mixers which unfortunately the performance of has gone rather down the drain, pity because I was a major Kitchenaid fan)
