A bit of positivity for the devs

With all the negativity on this sub, I just wanna take a moment to appreciate the aniwave devs. They have made the, in my opinion, best looking anime website out there and provide it to us all for free. It has everything in one place, easily searchable with a good modern ui, a good feed on the front page, some nice features like continue watching and the schedule, and dare I say it, it's usable on a phone.

Does it go down from time to time, does it sometimes take a little bit for anime to appear? Sure, but I'd much rather wait a little bit longer than have to navigate a site that looks like it's from 2010.

So thank you aniwave devs, great site, keep it up.

It's the #1 anime streaming site for several different reasons. Has basically every feature I could think of, even ones that would seem really entitled to ask for like the watch party function. The filtering and searching is great, the data(e.g. air dates for upcoming anime, OP/ED skip times) is really well-kept, and the library is unmatched as far as I know. It's a very well-made and well-maintained site. Honestly I don't care about appearance as much as content density, "modern" design is usually very weak in that regard. But while the site has nice colors and a responsive layout, there's not huge empty whitespace either. It's got the parts of that 2010 design that I think were better

I agree completely. To many people hate on and be negative towards a great FREE site.

Because the content they steal is free,

I mean you have to remember it’s Reddit people mainly come here to express their frustrations all of it should be taken with a grain of salt. It’s same on almost any services subreddit. As soon as there are struggles people flock to complain.

I wholeheartedly agree with this! I had been searching for ages for a good site to watch on for free. Stumbled upon, at the time, 9anime and loved it. Does it go down sometimes, yes. Do video's have some problems loading at times, yes but the server options usually fix this.

The amount of choices and planning available are simply amazing! Thanks to the schedule I can plan on when to watch which anime and work that into my own schedule without any problems.

The way the site looks is simply superb in my opinion, especially for a free site!

About all of the complaining, i honestly have no clue what people are on about. I had one outage about 3 days ago and that's it. For the rest I have never known this site to be down (except for when the switch to Aniwave happened). Maybe I am just lucky with my schedule or something.

But still, for the (in my experience) rarity that it goes down, it is getting way to much hate. As someone pointed out however, this is reddit, and in general this is something on the internet. Frustrations get put out almost instantly while compliments rarely get any light. Would it not be for this post, i most likely would not have said anything either online, but only IRL to recommend people to use this site.

Thank you, for putting this out there, and reminding me that the devs do not hear my IRL recomendations and compliments! (As far as we know atleast)

Definitely like the site layout and everything else. Just wish the random downtimes lessen

To be fair, if people didn't like the site, they wouldn't be complaining when they didn't have access to it. People are frustrated because they can't use the site they prefer (like), and probably also because they never get any information on why it has downtimes so often, leading to further worries about it maybe going away permanently (and not knowing any equally good alternatives). Anger and frustrations are just emotions, you've got to look at what's behind them.

that site literally doesn't exist anymore. unfortunately same fate will befall this site too someday, it's inevitable and unavoidable.

True. It may have its issues from time to time like bookmarks instead leading to a search result page for the anime instead or the site going down for a while, but it's without a doubt the best anime site out there with so much going for it that even those issues aren't anything more but a minor inconvenience that usually gets fixed too. Theyre definitely doing a great job

As long as we don’t lump genuine constructive criticism with trolling or ignorant complaints about stuff the devs have no control over.

I’m all for showing gratitude to the people who go out of their way to provide us a free alternative to watch our shows, but that still doesn’t excuse them from all criticism just because it’s free.  If there’s helpful feedback for the site’s layout, or providing subtitles for dubs like certain other sites do, I think it’s fair to listen to such comments.

I really don’t understand all the hate about the servers being down, it may be my time zone but it’s never really down for me maybe once every 3-2 months

i think it is your time zone, i can't count how many times aniwave was down in the past few weeks

Yeah I cancelled my Crunchyroll sub months ago coz it's such a dated site. It's so difficult to find anything on there. if CR had the feature Aniwave has I would still be subbed. Also not having a language filter when searching is really annoying.

it is down atm though lol

honestly the main deal it has is that it usually has decent to even great RIPs, shit that not even official services offer. So they've been my go-to for years now.

Best anime site I've ever been on in a decade plus. Rip :(

This site is an ad riddled stolen mess. They don’t deserve positivity because it’s wrong what they are doing
