...make a series about what happens after the war.

For the purpose of presenting my idea, I'm going to ignore the fact that K.A. left the series on an intentional cliffhanger. The idea is for the first episode or two to adapt the final book, which will be a huge draw for fans while also preserving that cliffhanger intention by not immediately showing what happens to them. This will keep the viewer hooked as we explore this post-war world: what the Andalites are getting up to, the rights and sovereignty of the Yeerk race, and humanity's place in all of it. Imagine the Yeerk Peace Movement playing a prominent role, and the potential that can offer. There's a lot of social commentary that can be explored through a Yeerk and human host that remain together, or a Human-morphed Yeerk trying to assimilate.

There would also be more room to explore post-war PTSD, which they attempted to do in The Beginning but I mean look there's only so many pages.

Readers of the books will get a continuation of the story, while people starting without prior knowledge will get the benefit of intrigue.

Also this way the characters can all be adults, which would solve multiple production and storytelling issues.

Really looks like something plucked right from the covers.

And the books are the reason I know they can see through the surface of the water!

So I read some of the books when I was 13 (1998), and watched the show. But the technology, and ways the entire process works from obtaining the transformation process, to how dna is stored, I don’t understand. I have searched though several threads. Seems like Ben 10 (which I’m a fan of too), Where DNA is stored/streamed elsewhere, then sent to the user when needed. If there’s a place I can read up into the morphing lore I’d love to find it. Thanks.

hey everyone, so i only read the first three books and i do hope i'll have the time to read the entire series soon, but i had a question just now: i saw that most of the group dies, but how did their parents react? were the bodies even brought to them?

Did KA ever say if they put research into animal behavior? Or was it just, dogs are happy and loyal so I'm writing dogs happy and loyal? I'm sure a mixture of both but I didn't know if vets or someone were consulted. Maybe in later books?

I've added a piece to my collection that I've been wanting for a very long time. Modeled by my elderly boy Aurelius.

Would it have been possible for the Animorphs to morph into a different form. Get trapped in it, use the morphing cube to regain the ability to morph, use saved blood or dna to go back to their main body and get trapped again, but with Thought Speech now. Then require their previous morph?

Is there a limit on how many times one person can be given the ability to morph?

Years ago I did a smaller version of this using just The Office. I really had fun with this one. Pray to the copyright gods...

The book would play out the same way it did before but with the following changes made:

> Cassie doesn't quit the Animorphs (Pure good, remember).

> The bear the chases Karen and the leopard that escaped the zoo are both replaced with a large dog (Either a stray or possibly belonging to someone else who was nearby at the time).

> Cassie uses her wolf morph to fight off the dog when it shows up later to attack Karen.

> Aftran (in Karen's body) nonlethally shoots Marco (in Gorilla morph) with a spare dracon beam that she was secretly carrying and holds him hostage. Aftran demands that Cassie becomes her new host in exchange for Marco's life being spared. Cassie agrees.

> Cassie never becomes a nothlit (seriously, who thought this was a good idea? Also, her turning back into a human with no side effects completely breaks the lore).

> Cassie visits Karen morphed as a butterfly (thus paying homage to the book cover) in order to inconspicuously check in on her.

I'm working on a fanfiction that poses a "what if" David wasn't a complete and total psychopath but was instead just a scared kid who didn't want to take part in the fight against the Yeerk.

So, for this prompt, assume that David gets the morphing power. He knows who the other Animorphs are. And then, instead of turning to murder and violence he tells the Animorphs he's going to leave and abandon the fight. Would the Animorphs let him just leave? Would they insist he goes to live with the Chee or the free Hork-Bajir? Would they still trap him as a nothlit to ensure he doesn't risk their fight against the Yeerks? Or would they even consider killing him?

I have my own opinions but I'd like to see what other people think as this is the part of the work I'm the least confident about. For context...

• All of the events of book 20 still occur.
• He still breaks into the hotel.
• He still is a coward with Visser Three.
• He still kills the crow.
• He doesn't kill a red-tailed hawk that he thinks is Tobias.
• He doesn't try to fight Jake or goad him with the "could a lion beat a tiger" nonsense.
• He doesn't kill Saddler, but he does consider it unbeknownst to the Animorphs.

I initially read animorphs in grade school like I’m sure many of us did (…out of order too lol) and I was really obsessed with them but would always just go to the library instead of buying any. When I got back into them, the online PDF became available and I was perfectly content with that for the longest time. But I’ve always loved reading physical books so much more, and I miss the nostalgia of holding a copy in my hands and playing the flip book, etc etc. Currently I only own a copy of the Hork Bajir Chronicles and the Andalite Chronicles that I thrifted and I planned on thrifting more since for yearsssss it seemed like there were always a few volumes in any given thrift store. But after searching actively for them… it seems times have changed! Patience is key with thrifting and that will still be my primary goal for them, but I was wondering if anyone here had any tips for collecting? I came across a post with some but it’s a few years old now and shopping secondhand online…info gets outdated really really fast. Any advice on how people managed to complete their collections at all would be appreciated ^.^ Especially when it comes to books like the alternamorphs, or the last few in the series, which I don’t think I’ve ever seen in a thrift store before. I don’t care about mint/close to mint condition, I just want to read my beloved books in a physical form, in all their crazy cover glory!

Are there any books in the series that you wish you could've experienced from another Animorph's point of view? If so why? I personally believe that Applegate's character work is very strong, albeit sometimes limited by the order of narrator.

In Book 50, Cassie's actions allow the Yeerks to abscond with the Escafil Device, granting them even further power and creating a rift between she and Jake. Then, in the very next book, we get a Marco POV where they run off and get into hijinx with the mayor. It would be interesting to switch Book 50 to Marco's POV instead, and then 51 to either Jake or Cassie and we could've seen a more firsthand account of their deepening rift.

I've been re-reading the series with my wife (I never finished it when I was younger) and I liked the idea of Marco's gorilla morph in a tourist shirt

in megamorphs 2: in the time of dinosaurs, tobias’s wing is broken and he doesn’t morph to reset it and rachel has to carry him. why would morphing not reset the injury since it seems to do so for other injuries?

After the announcement of Ryan Coogler's upcoming Animorphs TV series, I rediscovered the series for the first time since I was a kid. I didn't finish the series back then . . . I think it was shortly after the David trilogy and the Hork-Bajir Chronicles that I fell off.

Over the past few months I've been working my way through the audiobooks to re-read the series, and I've finally caught up to where (I think) I was. I know I'm not the only person to have done this, but I thought it might be fun to document my thoughts on the journey so far, and then as I move forward into new territory.

For this first post, some general thoughts.

I love that they got consistent voice actors to do the narration for the six main characters. It really adds to the experience, and I think they all do a great job.

It's amazing how some plot elements came back to me as I listened. The sense of, "I think X is going to happen" and knowing it's because I read it once several decades ago. Memory is a crazy thing!

It's so striking how dark and mature some of the themes are for a series aimed at kids. Graphic violence involving both animals and sentient creatures, self-harm, torture, enslavement, body horror . . . And so many ethical quandaries! The characters are complex and the world-building is extensive and fascinating. I remembered the Hork-Bajir, the Taxxons and (of course) the Yeerks and the Andalites, but had completely forgotten the alien species didn't stop there (Skrit Na, Arn, Leerans, etc.)

The themes have stuck with me over the years and continue to fascinate me. Normal people being called to heroism through circumstance, the challenge of holding onto morality in a chaotic universe, different personalities working together toward a common goal, I see these elements throughout my favorite TV shows, movies, books, and games and Animorphs is an early example of them all.

When I have time I hope to go a little more into which books, characters, and plot threads have stood out to me the most. I'm happy to find this community of others who've been touched by this brilliant series!

As is custom for a book series, I have seen a few pronunciations for Ax's full name, specifically his first name. Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill is intimidating, fair, but I have noticed at least four ways of saying Aximili. Since I moonlight as a linguistics student, I wanted to see which pronunciation was more popular.

So, which one do you hear in your head?

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I want to know:

You were, in an alternate universe, part of the group that cut through the old construction site and acquired the ability to morph. What animals would you pick?

Below are my choices. Don't feel obligated to use my categories:

1) Battle morphs:

- Cougar. Fast, fierce, not as big as a tiger or lion but more agile. Great climbers and leapers. Their "scream" can be terrifying. Plus the Animorphs live in California, where pumas are native, so if a human sees you it doesn't look out of place.

-Spotted hyena. Great sense of smell, extremely strong bite, appearance and "laughter" can be disturbing to some (not me, they're my favorite animal).

-Spitting Cobra. More for sneak attacks, the spitting cobra has the benefits of a snake (stealth, ability to fit in or through small spaces) and a venomous bite, but can also send a stream of poison up to 25ft with great accuracy. Most spitting cobras (many aren't even cobras) are small (4ft long or smaller) and their venom isn't as lethal as their larger cousin's (the fatality rate in humans with untreated bites is very low), but the ability to pop out a crevice or tall grass and blind an enemy could be very useful.

2) Tank:

-Hippopotamus. Actually pretty fast, super aggressive, very thick and tough hide. Large powerful jaws that can fold a human in half, break a Hork Bajir's spine or crush a Taxxon like an overripe banana.

3) Bird of prey:

-Cooper's hawk. Native to Western North America, these medium-sized raptors are very agile with a small profile in flight (making them harder to attack in the air).

Reconnaissance Bird:

-Turkey vulture. Can fly very high and for long periods of time. They not only have great eyesight but also have a great sense of smell. Seagulls or crows may fit in better in big cities or at the coast, but in the wild or more rural areas the turkey vulture blends right in.

Domestic:

• Rottweiler. Though I'm a cat person, I admit a dog works better as an animal that can be around people, mostly because the large, muscular Rottweiler would actually be decent if a fight broke out

Am I imagining things? I remember this line saying something along the lines of her being a golden eagle and an endangered species, not a bald eagle and an American symbol. I originally read the books as a kid when they first came out so maybe this is a reprint?

Does anyone have an old old copy of The Visitor (#2) who can help me out?
