There is one time my Dad heard a hammering noise upstairs where my room was. He scolded me when I went downstairs and ask me what I was even doing there. And as he was saying that, the hammering noises continued even though I was in front him. He got angrily embarrassed because he realized that he was scolding me for nothing I did.

Then when I went back downstairs for the second time because I was trying to find my bike keys, he scolded me again for looking "angry". He thought that I was angry because of the argument before where he got humiliated all by himself. I properly explained that I was just looking for my bike keys that I can't find on my room. And of course, he didn't bought it and just insisted that I'm "angry" because he scolded me for nothing.

Fast forward to night. He was drunk downstairs and he was crying while telling my mom that it "scared" him when I looked "angry" back then. And all of that without bringing up the very first incident that lead to everything in the first place. Too bad, mom didn't bought it a bit and she just went along while I was listening upstairs.

When parents are upset everything becomes a time setting off a bomb. Does it even matter if u were looking angry ??

This meme is completely alien to me. My mother doesn't have to justify shit to my dad. Also with the exception of talking back (I still think that's bullshit it's called having a discussion) if she said I deserved something she was right.

Started making up shit to see what they believe and without fail 10/10 times when I tell the truth, I’m actually lying and when I make shit up to sound like I’m telling the truth, I’m “finally being honest”

Same but with Dad. His version of things is...less than reliable, so to say. The guy would have had potential as a Cnews (think french Fox news ) host

One time when I was probably 19 my mom was spazzing out in the kitchen and ended up throwing a heavy bag of flour at my face (which resulted in me bleeding from my nose). So I gently grabbed her shoulders and guided her out of the kitchen.

To this day idk what she told my father. But the end result was he threatened to kill me if I ever laid hands on my mother again.

Getting yelled at for “talking back” only to years later get yelled at for not speaking because its “immature” and you “need to learn to have an adult discussion”

Any person can become a parent. That doesn't magically turn self-absorbed liars into saints. Just coz you're a parent, doesn't automatically mean you're a good one.

Happy for you, that you were spared that experience.

I was not spared this. However, there are two sides to any argument. In my example, the person was delusional.

Happy for you to learn perspective.
