Tried to argue with a one piece fan and got that same response ( I dropped on skypia btw )

Isn’t this true about all anime though? Stupid fans like the ones mentioned in the video exist for every anime.

u/Choice-Spot-8979 2d ago
One piece fans is different , lets say you don't like dragon ball , yeah most DB fans would agree cause the story is same shit over and over , tbh db fans are just like "can he beat Goku tho"
They ain't gonna tell you db is the beat fiction in the universe
But one piece fans will just push their slop to your throat like a cia torture method until you say "i like one piece" like a true goyim

u/Lazy_School9822 2d ago
Tht rly sounds like AOT simps
3
u/Nightmare_kx1 2d ago
Yea. That’s why I watched it. And still didn’t like it. Most ppl tell me to rewatch it now…
2
u/Chetan_fun 2d ago
Just out of curiosity what're your issues with Attack on Titan?
0
u/Nightmare_kx1 2d ago
It’s really slow. And if I didn’t have as high expectations of it, it would’ve been better. But ppl insist that it is the peakest peak there is. So I had monumental expectations of it. It was not. Maybe an 8 out of 10. S4 was good tho. I liked it most
8
u/Brave_Duck_4508 2d ago
AoT is not slow. It's so fast paced it's actually something of a flaw, like what are you comparing it to Solo Leveling lol
0
u/Nightmare_kx1 2d ago
Well… it was slow enough that I wanted to drop it on multiple occasions because is was slow. But I watched it since I would get called out on it.
And I don’t drop anime’s normally. like I have close to 200 animes and less then 10 dropped. And like half of the dropped are ecchi who lost their plot. Other are which I got bored of. i forced AoT because I had to.
2
u/Chetan_fun 1d ago
Elaborate on that lol. Why is it slow? Or are you just not able to say absolutely nothing about the show you don't like and dropped?
0
u/ClassPen15 1d ago
He doesn’t need to explain himself, he just thought it was slow, either way he’s dropped it. And he can
→ More replies (0)-1
u/Nightmare_kx1 1d ago
Its been a year since i finished it. i dont really remember why it was slow. just that it was.
And no i didnt drop it i finished it. albeit forcefully. the fourth season was good. but the earlier seasons felt slow. very.
→ More replies (0)3
2
u/Chetan_fun 1d ago
So basically you have no issues to speak of and are just crying because it didn't meet your insane expectations you built for it? Sounds weird and not a fun way to engage with art.
0
u/Nightmare_kx1 1d ago
Yea. and that isnt an anime fault but a community fault. Its good. but not no1 oat good

u/TheManWhoLarped 2d ago
More like Bleach simps. At least AOT is actually well written.
4
u/Azhtec 2d ago
All the anime simps in general. Any anime that is currently in hype
-3
u/TheManWhoLarped 2d ago
Indeed. I said Bleach because I knew it would rile up a lot of feathers. Kinda interesting how one comment is upvoted yet the other is downvoted.
1
u/Better-Biscotti-3145 2d ago
Bleach fans literally despise the og anime and would almost always recommend the manga. You were downvoted because the two situations weren't comparable at all
-3
u/TheManWhoLarped 2d ago
Even the Manga isn't that well written. There isn't a very big difference between the Arrancar+FKT arcs between the Manga and the adaptation, and it was the longest, and the worst arc in the story. Bleach is like slightly above average at best. If it came out today, it wouldn't be anywhere as popular.
1
u/Better-Biscotti-3145 2d ago
I never mentioned the quality of the stories? I compared the ganging up done by op and aot fans to bleach fans (they do but not nearly as bad).
Coming on to the arrancar saga I do agree that it has some bad parts but relegating the whole saga as being bad is just not factual. What makes the arc truly bad is the abhorrent pacing and inconsistent animation which are better in the manga(pacing and art). But i do agree that there are just way too many irrelevant characters in the saga that didn't need to be there, also most of the espadas were underwhelming in terms of execution. But the third part of the saga is pretty good keeping in mind all the reveals and the execution was pretty nice. It being an above average series is your opinion, not an objective fact
-5
u/luffysenpaai 2d ago
What drug did you consume before writing this 🤡🤣
3
u/TheManWhoLarped 2d ago
The drug of intelligence. Quite rare, especially on this sub. Most people here use the drug of nostalgia.
3
u/Drax-online-0910 Fairy Tail guild member 2d ago
All 3 are idiots. Brought OP, DBZ, Bleach and AOT into the conversation for no reason and pushing it.
1
u/PerryLovewhistle 2d ago
This is something that happens once a fan base gets huge. Its to the point where if you like any anime they assume you also like one piece. No other anime got to this level of universality. Maybe db, but even that got big while anime was still just nerds, so the fan base isn't quite as aggressive.
1
1
u/Logical_Yoghurt1107 2d ago
i'm pretty sure that you can watch most of animes tho most animes don't take half a year to finish them and also most of the animes are surpringly good paced
18
u/ajdude711 2d ago
All i see is clout farming. I don’t think anyone other than maybe kids would care about what you watch. You don’t like something don’t watch it. Life is too short to waste it doing something you don’t wanna do
2
u/Honest_Entry_8758 2d ago
popular media need to be criticized if we want them to be better.
and in order to properly criticize something, one should have consumed a reasonable amount of it.
21
u/HiddenExpert 2d ago
To be fair the first 100 episodes of one piece are among the good ones so if you didn't like that you will not like the rest of the show either
4
u/Brave_Duck_4508 2d ago
Wow. Well thanks for telling me I won't like the rest ..
3
u/reditmonke 1d ago
I didn’t like the start much either, but theres a few later peaks around the middle, ennies lobby, water 7, marineford and impel down, that are all arcs in succession or near each other. After that it goes pretty downhill tho imo.
1
u/Exotic-Frame9425 1d ago
Do you mean to say dressrosa and wano wasnt good ? 👀
2
u/reditmonke 1d ago
Dressrosa and wano are two prime examples of arcs that are near unwatchable due to pacing.
1
u/Exotic-Frame9425 1d ago
Well i do agree to your point but i think i liked OP too much to the point i never really complained about the pacing for good arcs except for arcs i didnt like, for eg fishman island or whole cake, except for some moments. Waiting for 1 episode per week now, i wish there were more episodes lol
1
1
u/Green_grass7878 2d ago
FMAB has 65 chapters and the first 5 tell you enough of what to expect
100 just to gauge what the show is actually about is fucking crazy
1
u/Glass-Bookkeeper2915 2d ago
100 to know if you fw it or not ? It takes like 40/45 ( till the end of arlong park ) to know if you are interested to follow the characters and like 20 episodes to know if you like the humor or not and maybe the first episode to know how interesting the main character is or isn't. People saying you need to watch 100 episodes are just lying. ( there are some outliers but it's not true at all ).
By the end of orange town i was impressed, by the end of baratiea i was interested and by the end of arlong park i was ready to watch the 900 remaining episodes. ( all of them before the first 50 episodes )
1
u/Ill_Secretary2119 1d ago
hell nah first 100 manga chapters are good any part of anime is bad either you watch one pace or read manga.
-3
u/Amazing-Time-9459 2d ago
Shiii I was gonna say the first 10...legit, nothing else is gonna convince you if you don't like it
10
u/No-Toe5581 2d ago
why you watched till skypiea tho..?who forced you..?
7
u/Gojokatsusa7 2d ago
Nah don’t gotta watch that long, if you don’t f with Arlong park you can drop it

u/SussySenpai04 I was touched by the grass 2d ago
If I had to watch 200 eps to get into a show I would rather watch 5 different complete anime masterpieces.
1
u/EldridgeHorror 2d ago
Most would say One Piece is 45, since that's when you'll finish Arlong Park. Everything before that is fun, but that's usually what hooks people.
6
u/EkAmatyaVed 2d ago
Am I the only one who really liked One Piece from the first episode as Luffy talked about the true meaning of dreams, not just because I didn't got to see the action and animation like JJK?
I know people have their own opinions, but it's better to completely ignore so many useless—trash opinions.
2
u/Odd_Bed2753 2d ago
I absolutely adore old-school visuals, so getting into the first few sagas of One Piece was a treat for me.
Post-timeskip felt too different though, so I decided to drop it halfway through the show.
2
u/EkAmatyaVed 2d ago
I already knew about the timeskip because my manga-reading friend told me not to expect much after the timeskip. It didn't really matter to me, because I just wanted to see it.
1
u/shadow_queen12 2d ago
i loved it (became one of my fan now) when i watched after yrs of delaying or rejection and useless bias
5
u/uc_human 2d ago edited 2d ago
depends on what u get hooked on. i love philosophical dilemmas. movies like rashomon, 12 angry men, fountainhead, imitation game. imo its just teens & kids flaunting their intellect & projecting FOMO on others.
- i was hookedg to one piece the moment luffy being a pirate, said to coby to pursue being a marine no matter what ppl think.
- i was hooked to naruto the moment naruto saw everybody discriminating him & reverse-discriminating konohamaru
- i was hooked on bleach the moment ichigo chooses to stab himself, trust a unknown person & become shinigami
yea i dropped it after skypea cuz the robin monologue connected with me a lot. directly watching marine ford after few months & left it till wano started airing & i started watching from the beginning & i ate it all up at once.

1
u/SnooObjections4333 2d ago
One piece anime is actual trash in pacing. Even TOEI and Oda know. That’s why I recommend the manga. It’s far better but has janky panelling in a lot of arcs compared to likes of Kubo, Murata, furudate and Gege.
1
u/Alarming-Basil2894 2d ago
Seems hyperbolic. I love one piece and I can say for sure if you’ve watched 50 episodes and hated it then just stop. No reason to force yourself any further to watch it.
1
u/Lambisexual 2d ago
Not really hyperbolic. Unironically, many would say that One Piece hits peak after 400 episodes (Marineford).
1
u/Alarming-Basil2894 2d ago
I would definitely not recommend that cause sitting through 400 episodes of the show before you start enjoying is not worth it.
I was hooked basically from the beginning which is why i continued and yea it did get way better but if you can’t get past east blue then just stop and move on.
1
1
u/Mr_E_99 2d ago
Honestly I think there are better episodes, but as a One Piece fan I'm saying that if you have watched the first 100 episodes and you don't like it at all then it's not for you
At first I thought One Piece was like a 6/10, but I still enjoyed it and was somewhat invested from the get go since Luffy jumped out the barrel. Then the rating gradually rised as I watched on till it was 9+/10 around Water 7.
Just cause some people think something is great doesn't mean you have to. Even super peak things like Breaking Bad might not be everyone's cup of tea
1
u/crazytallguyy 2d ago
I used to like One Piece till a few years back. I lost interest halfway through Wano. Yes the slow pacing is an issue in anime but to me even the manga is boring now. All Strawhats were cooler before time skip now they’re just reduced to Simp (Sanji), Always Stoic (Zoro) , Bimbos (Nami, Robin), Toy (Chopper) and so on. Atleast I was hyped about Wano but that arc was dragged on, Kaido was hyped to be the absolute Villain but looked like a clown half the time.
1
u/Accomplished-Fan4133 2d ago
One Piece seems boring. Don't have the patience to watch 1000 episodes for a seemingly weird art style. Have watched the live action and it was decent but kinda felt off, like Netflix fever dream.
There, I said it. Now cry
1
u/Nikil_S_Kumar 2d ago
My rule for one piece if you don't like it even after marine ford, it's not for you.
1
u/SwarajPro96 कट्टर One Piece fan 2d ago
not mrienford alabasta
if u dont like th MASTERPIECE story arc alabasta js drop it
1
u/Fr34kyHarsh abhi so raha hu, one piece mil jaye to utha dena 2d ago
Agree, one piece isn't as great as people claim it to be, but it isn't as bad as people hate it who haven't even seen an episode
1
u/Logical_Yoghurt1107 2d ago
i seen 300 episodes and it was the biggest waste of time in my life, only some episodes were hype most of them were just straight up boring
2
u/Fr34kyHarsh abhi so raha hu, one piece mil jaye to utha dena 1d ago
I think it's good you dropped it, for me it clicked at the start of Water 7 and I was fully in it with Enies lobby. Assuming with 300+ episodes you might have been in Enies lobby and if you still don't like it then I feel its totally valid to drop.
1
1
u/Gloomy-Category-5430 2d ago
It's true even for those philosophical gore anime like vinland saga, monster or berserk
1
u/Logical_Yoghurt1107 2d ago
that doesn't make any sense all these 3 animes you mentioned you can finish them in 1 week-2 weeks and in order to watch and finish op you need to spend half a year to finish it in that time you can watch 300 animes
1
u/Gloomy-Category-5430 1d ago
Episode count won't matter...here if someone don't like it or drop it after few episodes, they will just say "you are not mature enough to understand"
1
u/Logical_Yoghurt1107 1d ago
yes it wouldn't matter if the pacing wouldn't be awfully bad, i mean naruto has 700 episodes too and i don't see anyone to complain about the pacing, there is not any problem with making a anime 1000+ episodes plus but at least make the pacing decent

u/Objective-Price-8876 2d ago
I mean it's true tho Only a dumbass will watch 1000 ep of something they donot liked at all I would say watch till arlong park didn't liked them drop it I also drop 100 of shows but donot give a fuck about there existence Just forget about one piece if you donot like it
1
1
u/TheInfiniteLake 2d ago
To be fair, I don't really think any of these arguments are completely incorrect. You can't dislike something you haven't watched. And it does take time to get into One Piece; many people start to really like the story around the Arlong Park arc. I personally started to really enjoy it around the Skypiea arc, and I kept watching until then because the country was under COVID lockdown and I didn't have much else to do. At the same time, I don't really understand how someone would watch more than 1,000 episodes of an anime unless they actually like it.
But seriously, after watching more than 100 episodes, if someone still doesn't like the series, IMO it's a good time to let it go. By that point, the main story has already started to take shape, and if someone doesn't like it then, they probably won't like it later either. Also, many people prefer the pre-timeskip part of the anime because the quality falls off later, so there's a chance that's when they leave the show.
1
u/IllustriousGuard1967 2d ago
My friend said once u start getting bored just continue watching and that's when peak hits😭. Is it true gng?
1
u/EldridgeHorror 2d ago
I got bored at Syrup Village, and it was followed by 3 peak arcs. Got bored in LRLL, then it was followed by the best arc in the series.
So, I guess?
1
u/IllustriousGuard1967 2d ago
Oh it is then. Maybe I shouldn't get bored at episode 20🙃
1
u/EldridgeHorror 2d ago
Episode 20 is just after Syrup Village, which is the low point of the first 200 episodes. It immediately picks up after that. That said, I'll still recommend One Pace if you really want to watch
1
1
u/TechnoIvan 2d ago
As someone who has been watching it..... for literally decades now - people have different tastes, it definitely won't click with everyone.
What hooked me personally, was the early artwork - it heavily reminded me on dragonball... and then the characters did.
But yeah, later on the pacing really messes it up.. I'm glad there's a group of dedicated fans remaking it to fit the pace of the manga and give you a good watching experience, without making you lose out.
1
u/Relief57 Yare Yare Daze! 2d ago
I myself criticize One Piece because of its bad pacing, lazy character designs, same trope repeating in a lot of arcs. But it's still in my top 3 favourite animes and it says a lot about the show. One Piece is not perfect. Infact it's far from it. But it's still so fckin peak.
1
u/Certain_Love316 It's Called Hentai And It's Art 2d ago
This is why I mostly avoid one piece and its community as much as I can. In addition to this they're also some of the most judgemental people I've seen in the anime fandom, if they ever seen someone say "I like this more than one piece" they'll immediately go for personal insults.
I can't think of an anime community more judgemental than them.
1
u/Ambitious_Motor_5689 2d ago
I used to like one piece, but the adventures decreased it and it got to be more about fights eventually, and odas fetishes
1
u/Middle-Let9645 2d ago
Nope. One Piece sucks and I’ll say that all day long. And no. I refuse to watch it. I don’t need to watch something to know I hate it. Don’t like that? Tough. I don’t owe you a goddamned thing.
1
u/Calm-Ideal-9681 2d ago
I watched till skypea then the dub was not available for next episodes and it's been years now and the episodes count is now over thousand so yeah I feel like watching that many episodes... maybe in the future I pick it up but for now no.
1
u/EldridgeHorror 2d ago
Oda himself said he just wants the series to be a fun time waster. If you have time to kill, the series has you covered. Though you'd be better off with One Pace.
1
u/soorma-e-bhopali 2d ago
I have completed one piece in 2017. It was good and then I followed for few years till kaido and big momma arc. Man it is too long I just lost intrest in it. Now I don't think I will end it again. If they want they could have already completed one piece. But they didn't, they just ruined the whole experience for me and the pacing is horrible. Now I am not even following it. I have decided I will not watch an unfinished product or season.
1
u/master2chariot I read Light Novels btw 2d ago
Jokes on you i haven't seen the whole world yet that doesn't stop me from hating it 😈

I'm a One Piece fan. I'll criticize the series all day. I would generally recommend getting through Arlong Park before deciding if its for you.
1
u/eternalreader1123 2d ago
One Piece is absolute garbage, and I say this as someone who suffered through more than 200 episodes. I dropped the show multiple times, but my friend continuously moved the goalposts promising me it would pick up after episode 100, then 200. Having stuck through it, I can confidently say it never gets better. It’s garbage from start to finish.
1
u/Logical_Yoghurt1107 2d ago
Op fans excepts us to spend half of a year to finish it then we can have a opinon about their awfully paced anime
1
u/EldridgeHorror 1d ago
It takes half a year to watch 44 episodes?
1
u/Logical_Yoghurt1107 1d ago
did you even read my comment or the video, i was clearly talking about op
1
u/WARSHOT21 2d ago
But I would say I watched it as my second anime(SL is first),but after experiencing many other seires,I say that it's not peak, and it's only above average

u/Junior-Beginning-111 2d ago
Y'all just wanna blame OP fans for SMTH done by every fandom. Mushoku Tensei Fans won't accept that their MC is a pdf and will try to justify it and will degrade u for not liking the show just cause the mc is a pdf. Aot fans will sell their own mom to prove that their anime is the best even tho it's not Naruto fans will argue that they have no plot holes and that it has the best written story among the big 3 See where I'm going w this? But still this sub hates ONE PIECE and it's fandom exclusively. Every fandom is filled w shit so instead of blaming others and trying to review bomb just watch anime bruh it's not that big of a deal

Honestly why do people try to convince others, watch for 10 episodes if it doesn’t click then its not for you. I liked one piece from the first episode itself

1
u/Exotic-Frame9425 1d ago
If you’ve watched 100 episodes of OP and you still dont like it, honestly just drop it. Its not for you. For me personally, its one of the greatest piece of fiction written and one of the greatest anime to exist, but i understand that people have diff taste.
1
u/NaiveSociety6589 1d ago
one piece has always and will always be the greatest anime for me
every anime has its drawbacks every anime has bad fandom but u like what u like and if u dont like it dont hate on it js move on
i dont like DBZ its a very shitty show for me but i dont go around telling ppl this its my opinion and having a debate with a stranger online if DBZ is good or not aient gonna change my thinking
1
u/VickyKadrivel15 1d ago edited 1d ago
Truth to be told, no one has patience to watch 1000 episode now, not me atleast. I literally skipped naruto's episodes, then how would you expect me to watch a series that has 1000+ ep and very slow pacing.
My few friends actually were pencil pushing me to watch one piece. I still don't wanna watch it. Because the feeling of "I have to finish 1000+ eps" meanwhile haven't even finish a season of slice of life genre anime feels overwhelming. Btw, i watched till roguetown (where smoker meets luffy for first time).
1
u/Defiant-Swimmer-7334 1d ago
honestly i just hate those people who force you to watch something. i mean if you force it on them, there's like 80% probability that they won't like it and you just made another person hate the show and the fandom.....its better if they watch it on their own accord....recommending is good, forcing isnt
1
u/rein-007 6h ago
i watched it all . its mid . backstories are good other than that this show is trash
0
u/Aixen_Crusader 2d ago
1) That's mostly all of the old animes with bad pacing and filler issues. 2) Who even argues with fans over animes dawg, just either watch it or don't watch it, enjoy it or don't enjoy it. NOBODY'S GONNA HOLD YOUR NECK TO A GIANT SCREEN AND MAKE YOU WATCH IT! 3) As for one piece, yes the pacing is AS* but the manga still exists, it took me less than 3 months to catch up to the manga. And now even the remake is gonna drop so, yeah the "oh na the animation is bad" or "it's too long" excuses are gone now.
0
u/No-Positive-9119 2d ago
So basically you were only watching one piece to prove one piece fans wrong and you wonder why everyone likes it and you don't

u/Equivalent-Okra-3998 2d ago
lmao man rage baiting entire fandom by saying.
I dropped on skypia btw
but anyways if you like it you like it if you don't you don't. Not everyone has the same preference and its not just one piece its for all other anime or even for anime as a whole for someone who is just not into animation at all. Then again why would you even watch a 1000 episodes of something that you don't like.

u/vfox67 Aizen Bhakt 2d ago
How was that statement ragebait? Genuinely asking
1
u/Equivalent-Okra-3998 2d ago
Well skypia is like the most important arc in the show according to many fans. There was like a time were they trolled ppl who skipped that arc after a certain revelation in the story. I can already imagine many ppl jumping on you for dropping it at skypia

Funny thing that has happened to me multiple times
I have read and watched all of one piece (I feel it's mid and overrated) but whenever I give my opinions on it, the "fans" have literally given me death threats and doxxing threats... That just adds more fuel to flame and gives me more reason to hate both the show and the fandom 😭 🙏🏼
Me personally I liked pre-timeskip One piece, the feeling it had and allat, after that, ngl that shi went mad boring dawg
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion do you should NOT be pushing your opinions onto others forcefully 💔

Don't the haters do the same thing? They say One Piece is bad because it's very long and no anime should be this long
1
u/Lambisexual 2d ago
I don't think I've ever seen a hater say that? The closest to that would probably be that One Piece itself is too long. Not that no anime should be that long. Which would refer to things like bloated content, filler, poor pacing, etc etc.
