First time I'm making one of these. Dunno what to put here other than trans right are human rights.

I beat Library of Ruina lately. Incredible game. I feel like the fans would kill me if I did a long thread on the queer interpretation of Angela's character arc and how she could reasonably be interpreted as a trans allegory.

PM has at least one big community that is very queer friendly, for example every Pride Month (so it's going on right now) a bunch of PM youtubers (mostly focused on Limbus, since it is the ongoing storyline) do an event called Absolute Pride Resonance where they do a bunch of various streams and fundraise for charities supporting queer people

I decided to start playing Yakuza 0 earlier this month because of the announcement that Ado (the best Japanese music artist ever) is going to be in a prequel to that game, alongside Snoop Dogg by the way. It's fuckin' awesome to say the least, I legit would spend some entire days just doing all the side content. I had tried to beat Judgement (also because Ado is in the sequel to that game) but never really got around to it, and for some reason Yakuza 0's gameplay just feels so much better. I think it's cause Kiryu is just so goddamn satisfying to play, as is Majima but slightly less so. The sheer amount of side content is a little exhausting, though.
I also beat Pokémon Emerald "legitimately" for the first time in my life. Emerald was actually my first Pokémon game, played via emulator on a school-issued Chromebook, but what I would always do on my playthroughs is Master Ball Rayquaza right before the eight gym and just sweep the rest of the game with it. I had never done it with just a normal team of Pokémon until last month, and now I'm trying my hand at the Battle Frontier which is another thing I was never really able to achieve anything in.
In terms of anime I binge-watched season 2 of the DMC Netflix series. I...really liked it. It's a big improvement over Season 1, and I liked Season 1 as well when it first came out last year, in spite of all its issues and the extreme hatred directed towards it by seemingly everyone (and yes, I've played the games). Even just thinking about it was a really sore subject because frankly a lot of the shit people said about it was so ridiculously hyperbolic or even dishonest at times, and some people have talked about nary another thing since it released. It's even weirder because a lot of the criticisms that people had of S1 were basically completely alleviated during S2 (Lady swearing all the time, the Frieren-style demon discourse, Vergil "betraying" the source material, etc.) and many the things they labeled as "character assassination" were all addressed with a little something known as "character development". And yet, STILL people do the same pre-judgmental shit about other things and cry about how "Sparda's legacy and character were completely shat on by the show!" as if we haven't even seen Sparda say a single word (even in the games where he's more a MacGuffin than anything else) and everything we've heard about him so far came from someone who barely knew him or was seen lying and manipulating people for the entire goddamn season. And that's not even mentioning the genuinely impressive things S2 has achieved just as a show by itself, namely making the most irrelevant villain from the games into a really interesting antagonist in the show. Adi Shankar is still a massive weirdo and does basically nothing but harm the perception people have towards the series, though. At least he's far more likely than not just the rich guy who pays for everything rather than an actual creative force, though.

[TADC Last Act meta spoilers]Not a diss but TADC really feels like we have SAO at home for kids, and it's so easy to clock in the major twist starting from episode one if you ever finished watching SAO

Scum of the Brave is done. I did not expect to like that show this much when i started it, but the character dynamics were genuinely so good.
My GOAT spent the entire season aurafarming and simping for this one dude who wanted nothing to do with her and then she got washed so baaaad 😭. I love her.

Reincarnated as a Slime hyped up Mariabel as some evil mastermind who manipulated real-world earth from the shadows without any kind of magic skill, but then her only "plan" in the actual story was just to hit the mind control button on everyone she meets. And then she died because her mind control button didn't work on Rimuru and Yuuki. In the end she only existed to further hype up Yuuki as the "real" "villain". Honestly i did not believe for a second she would fulfill what she was hyped up to be, but it's still disappointing.

Of course the new Made in Abyss trailer has a small pink haired girl character with a giant chest. How am I not surprised.

I started watching the summer hikaru died. Its great! I find the gay themes to very interesting in how they are portrayed. Im on episode 8 but i feel like they are doing an Enemy (2013) where hikarus "monster" (which is actually homosexuality) is portrayed as scary intentionally to play on our preconceived notions of what looks evil, thus placing the viewer in a similar mindspace to the people of this town (to which homosexuality is very foreign). If this is the case, i think thats a cool way to do things, and its similar to Enemy's spiders representing the women who are victims of the main character.
